I know that Dr. Julia Flowers in Grapevine is VBAC friendly. I had a C-Section with my first, and she left it up to me to decide the second time around if I would have a VBAC or repeat C-Section. I opted for a repeat C-Section, but I feel like she would have been supportive either way.

Dr. Troy New was willing to discuss a VBAC with my 3rd, although we ended up doing the c-section. He didn't seem overly opposed, but did give me my options. Since it was my 3rd and the 1st 2 for C-section, I was more on the cautious side too.

I am not sure there are ANY Ob's at Baylor Grapevine that are VBAC friendly. Not that they dont want to be--but have you have called the hospital and asked what their VBAC policy is?? I have never heard of any one having a successful VBAC at Grapevine. Sometimes the Docs are open to it..but the hospital policy is not. I would call them first---and if they say they do allow VBAC's...ask them for their successful rate. ( one woman on the ICAN list called a hospital that said they were VBAC friendly and asked what they success rate was and it was under 10%---eeekk!) I know that Harris Down town has some care providers that do VBAC's and also North Hills Hospital if you are looking to stay in Tarrant county.

If you want to know about VBACs, I strongly suggest getting involved with ICAN for at least the duration of your pregnancy, or prior to for preparedness. Here is a link:

I've been down this road in the metroplex and VERY FEW doctors are truly willing to do VBAC and even less are excited about giving you the VBAC experience that you desire. Google Dr. Cummings in Denton and then consider the drive. He is very supportive of VBAC and many women drive from the metroplex and even two hours for his care. He's fantastic.
