We are taking a family vacation in three weeks and are looking for some ideas on what we should see and do. We are flying and staying in the Williamsburg Virginia area. Has anyone been there before and what are the must sees? My husband, daughter, stepson and mother-in-law will all be on vacation together.

What can I do next?

There are LOTS of things to see and do around Williamsburg, but I don't know your interests. I would just google "Williamsburg, Virginia tourist attractions" and go from there. Whenever I'm planning a vacation, I always go online to find out what is in the area, including restaurants, museums, amusement parks, etc. The internet is a HUGE resource!

We flew into Richmond, went to King's Dominion then drove to Williamsburg, went to Busch Gardens then drove to Virginia Beach for the afternoon. We wanted to do more there but was short on time. If you go on www.tripadvisor.com, they have a lot for the vacationer to look at as far as customer reviews on things to do & places to eat/stay. There are also websites where you can also usually get a multi ticket which allows you to do more than one thing for lower price. Look on Busch Gardens website & for the 3 park flex ticket for BG, Water Country & Colonial Williamsburg for less than $100. If that's not your thing, you can do an internet search for 'things to do in williamsburg' & you should be able to find all of the great things Williamsburg has to offer. We just went themeparking but hope to go back & do more another time. We didn't have much time to spend the first time around. Sorry we couldn't be more helpful. Good luck & Have fun.

Love Williamsburg...must sees are Colonial Williamsburg, William and Mary College, Busch Gardens Europe, Jamestown settlement, Yorktown, tons of plantations (we went to Berkley Plantations) with tours and they also have a cool ghost night tour for all ages with history. We had so much fun there and there is so much to do!! Enjoy!

Check out tripadvisor.com to find good or bad reviews for any thing to do with traveling. I use the site everywhere we go including hotel reviews. Have a good trip!

Of course you need to see the colonial williamsburg and to see everything that takes more than one day. You do not say the ages of your kids but at Newport News they have some dinner cruises that go out of the port. That was very nice...they go in thru the base that is there. Have Fun!

I love Williamsburg, Va. I am from Virginia it is so pretty there. Well Busch Garden's Theme park is great!! And the shows there are great as well. And if you like pottery then you should go to Williamsburg Pottery. There is also city of Jamestown which is not far and it is really nice and there are things to do there as well. I hope you and your family have a great trip!! It is beautiful country!!
