anyone know what to do in VA Beach with kids in April? I've never been there before, and I'm having a hard time figuring out what is open off season. We are going to go to the VA Zoo one day, and Busch Gardens another, probably play on the beach for a bit and go to the park. Any other suggestions? thank you!!!!!!

You could go to the Virginia Living Museum, which is up in Newport News, I think. We went there with my kids over the summer while visiting friends, and they loved it. Even if it's raining, there are plenty of indoor exhibits and animals to see!

We used to live in Chesapeake, VA. (right next door) and miss it very much. It's a beautiful part of Hampton Roads!! Enjoy!
There is a really nice Children's museum in Portsmouth, which is probably half hour from VA beach. Also in Norfolk, there is currently a really awesome Pirates exhibit at the Nauticus. It is a temporary thing, so you may want to research first to find out whether it will still be open when you are there, but my sisters and I all thought it was great, and if our children were older (toddlers right now) we would have loved to have taken them there.
My sister lives in Norfolk, and the drive to VA beach took about 20-30 minutes during prime beach weather (August) so probably would be on the shorter end of that travel time. Water will be cold in April...
Williamsburg was a lot of fun, and it's pretty much at your own pace, so that helps with kids. You can tour buildings you want to and skip the ones you don't. It's very open there, so if your kids like to run around and need space, there is a lot of it in Williamsburg.
As far as I know Colonial Williamsburg is not far either. I remember as a kid we went to both places in the same week. There are a lot of neat things to see there.
Virginia Marine Science Museum is near there in Norfolk. When we go to VA Beach we always stop there. My daughters enjoy it. They were probably 4 & 6 the first time we went.
williamsburg is a nice place too. In the summer water country is great.. but now.. off season.. how about horseback riding..
i dont know how old is your kids, but there is seasame street park. it only open on weekends during off season. just google it and find out exact hours
