Hi Ladies,
Good Monday morning to you all. It's been a while since I posted last but, I wanted to share with you all that I am having a baby girl :)
My son really wanted a sister so I am thrilled that he got his request. When I was at the specialists office having my most recent sono done the tech stated that the fibroid that was present in my last two sono's wasn't there. She said that most likely I had a contraction and it was mistaken for a fibroid. Once the doctor came in she again looked and stated that it could have either been that or, it shrunk. Don't get me wrong, I am just thrilled that isn't an issue at this point. I know that I have a fibroid, and they do not just go away so the fact that 2 different sono's showed the image at the same size, kinda threw me off. I am just going with the theory that it shrunk. Anyone with this experience or similar?

Also, I spoke to the doctor about a vbac. I was told by the nurse at my regular OB that I would have to have a c-sec due to a prior c-sec. I specifically asked the specialist, "Ultimately, I know it is up to me and my OB to decide but, am I healthy enough as well as the baby if I were to attempt a vbac"? She said, "Yes, It is up to you and your OB but, I don't see any issue why not". Does anyone have experience with a doctor that isn't thrilled about a vbac and having him change his tune per your request? Just curious to hear how others have gone about this. I very much like my doctor, he has helped me out tremendously with my many female issues.
I appreciate the stories in advance :)
Take care

Congratulations!! Baby girls are so sweet! So are boys! Yes fibroids can shrink with hormone fluctuations. And I had a neighbor who had 2 vaginal births and then a c-section. She then went on to have 4 more babies vaginally. Didnt have any trouble with them. It does depend on why you needed the c-section tho. She had placenta previa with the one pregnancy so it wasnt a problem with the other births, and she was in great physical condition too. Best wishes!!

My daughter had a normal vaginal birth after two c-sections.

My son (Dr) said c-sections aren't any more common than they used to be, except for the need for the health of the mother. NOT TRUE! C-sections are used much more now than they were used to be because the doctors get paid more for doing a c-section (plus requiring more follow up visits and more hospital bed time) and because they can schedule a c-section where as mother nature scheduled the normal vaginal births.

Hospitals like c-sections because more hospital beds are filled for a longer period of time (say "Profits"). Doctors like c-sections because c-sections are scheduled so they can schedule more deliveries, more followups, and have fewer interrupted golf games.

BTW, the above info came from a medical journal delving into the increased number of c-sections from 1995 to 2005.

Good luck to you and yours.
