i have been feeling very ill these past few weeks..... my breast really sore, pain on my left side and nausea and arm pit gets really sore ... any idea what could cause this?

Sometimes I couldn't turn because of my joints get really stiff... takes me a while to turn over also been feeling that I'm having a cold. I'm worried!!!

I've had my breast checked up before and they found a cyst but was told just to look after it, none life threatening. A few weeks ago, my breast had a red mark... and of course waited a week, slowly went away. I got puzzled of course.

went to the clinic and was told, it's your pms?! can that be it??

it's been long over due how i've been feeling, can't seem to ignore the feeling anymore :( need your input pls, thankyou.

What can I do next?

So What Happened?

I am in Canada by the way... can't seem to change my location.

What you've described the 3rd reply, i don't think so. I hope to get better soon tho. I live in a Rez and there are no ER's here.... just local clinic, nurses coming in every two weeks... So I d k... whatever comes up will happen I guess. Not everyday I ask.. :( thank-yu for your replies.

My thought also went to lymph nodes being swollen with the arm pit reference. See if you can get in to get some blood tests done to rule out serious infection.

Do you think you could have been bitten by an insect (like a spider or a tick?). It kind of sounds like it could by Lyme disease, which is carried by ticks. Here's some info on Lyme disease from the Mayo Clinic:

Early signs and symptoms
These signs and symptoms may occur within a month after you've been infected:

Rash. A small, red bump may appear at the site of the tick bite. This small bump is normal after a tick bite and doesn't indicate Lyme disease. However, over the next few days, the redness may expand forming a rash in a bull's-eye pattern, with a red outer ring surrounding a clear area. The rash, called erythema migrans, is one of the hallmarks of Lyme disease. Some people develop this rash at more than one place on their bodies.
Flu-like symptoms. Fever, chills, fatigue, body aches and a headache may accompany the rash.

Later signs and symptoms
In some people, the rash may spread to other parts of the body and, several weeks to months after you've been infected, you may experience:

Joint pain. You may develop bouts of severe joint pain and swelling. Your knees are especially likely to be affected, but the pain can shift from one joint to another.
Neurological problems. Weeks, months or even years after you were infected, you may experience inflammation of the membranes surrounding your brain (meningitis), temporary paralysis of one side of your face (Bell's palsy), numbness or weakness in your limbs, and impaired muscle movement.

Boy this could be just anything. I think you need to get checked out right away. I'm not sure what you mean about arm pit - is it something like a lymph node that's swollen, or is it joint pain from something like arthritis or rotator cuff? Or is it like what you have pain in other joints too? Could be a nasty flu, could be Lyme, could be anything. I maybe shouldn't even hazard a few guests?

Also, women have vague symptoms like pain in the side and arm/shoulder issues when they are having a mild heart attack. So since this has been for 3 weeks and you are worried, go to the doctor! But make a list of all these things you've listed here, and take it with you. Insist on a full work up.

If you can't be seen by your primary care physician tomorrow, ask for someone else in the same practice or get a nurse to tell you whether or not you need to go to the ER.

I don't want to scare you but you really need to get a mammogram. Unfortunately the way your healthcare system is set up this is tough from what I hear. The thing is you do have markers of breast cancer. If you are young I will tell you that it is happening more frequently than ever in younger women so if your docs are using that to just "keep and eye" on you they are dead wrong. Also, breast cancer DOES hurt for many many women-many docs still want to say that if it hurts it is not BC. Please fight for a second opinion here. Don't let your inadequate health system keep you from possibly saving your life. There are many women on www.breastcancer.org from Canada who can give you some advice.

The Lyme Disease that Catherine is talking about would need to be treated with antibiotics. It's REALLY important not to let that go. Saying it's your PMS is a cop-out and not good medicine.

Go back in and demand some help, L..

If you have a red spot on your breast, and the pain and soreness around armpit, it sounds like mastitis. Not sure because I can't see what your dealing with---But if it is, warm compresses and gentle massage around breast and armpit area. Go to the doctor/clinic if it still persists.
