Umbrella Stroller Suggestions?

Hello...trying to decide on what type of umbrella stroller to purchase (for my 11 month old daugther). The full size stroller is too bulky. I am looking for something that is light weight and easy to get in and out of the car while running quick errands and taking my son to school. Something with a shade for the sun, reclining seat and storage compartment would be nice too...just don't want to spend a whole lot if I don't have to. Any suggestions? Thanks!

What can I do next?

We have a Chicco and love it, but I bought an additional sunshade that ties on it (and folds into a small pouch) and provides more shade, b/c most umbrella strollers' canopies are skimpy. Good luck!

I used the Chicco stoller and loved it.

Just my 2 cents, check the weight limits on them, the higher the weight limit the better. I found with the cheaper ones, they were very hard to push around as your child gets bigger and they just seemed harder on your back.

The Baby Trends Trenlite Stroller from KMart is awesome! It was $20, has a shade, reclines almost fully, has a storage basket, and even a little basket on the handle for mommy and daddy to put their things. It is very lightweight, simple to put up and take down, and folds almost completely flat. It is awesome!

Good luck!

Baby Trend at Babies R Us was $40. The seat adjusted flat & straight up. It has a basket at the bottom to hold 5 lbs of stuff, drink & play tray for baby, 2 drink/compartment cups for mom. It's light. It also has a canopy.
You can probably view online.

good morning. i asked my fam mmebers for the same advice. my sis-in law also loved the mclaren volo. i needed something with bigger wheels(we live in the city-bumpy sidewalks). we ended up with a chicco. i call it my glorified umbrella stroller. nice wheels, light weight, reclines, and storage. i got it at babies r us. it is around 100$. i have had luck on craigs list and with end of season closeouts at the big stores.

we use the maclaran volo -- it was about $100, that's expensive, I know, but we tried a few other ones -- less expensive ones, and they did not hold up. it folds up easily, it has a strap so that you can carry it on your shoulder all folded up, and it's lightweight and made of a kind of mesh that allows air through so it's not as hot to sit in for a long stroll. I use it for all our outings at local venues like the zoo or around the grocery store, etc., instead of keeping the big stroller in the back of the car. we also use it for airplane trips and it's much easier than a full sized stroller. the only drawback is that there is no tray.
I hope that this helps.

Hey M.,

I purchased whatever the $12 on at Wal-mart is....it works just fine. It's the one I leave in the back of the car all the time. If I know we are going some place and are going to use the stroller all day...I take the big one. But just quick trips, the cheap one works great!

We had a Chicco but had problems with walking and kicking the wheels, so we just bought an Evenflo with adjustable handlebars for $40 through Amazon/BabiesRUs. We took it on flights and on vacation and like it alot. There's not a huge amount of storage though, but then again, it is just an umbrella stroller and pretty inexpensive. Good luck!
