Dishes and laundry. Good lord. I don't mind sweeping, vacuuming, scrubbing, bathrooming, etc. But I HATE doing laundry. Dislike dishes.

What is the chore you abhor?

What can I do next?

Taking care of the clutter! It mounts up so fast and takes forever to put away or throw away. I get so sick of sorting the mail, putting away papers from school, organizing toys, dealing with the bills, etc. It's never ending.

Everything. But I do it.
I also HATE cooking... But I do it and cook from scratch every darn day.

It never stops.
As soon as I clean, you can't tell because they kids are dismantling all the cleaning I did.

I'm with Kelly S. I hate EVERYTHING!!!

However, I have noticed that when my husband takes the kids out for a few hours and leaves me home alone, I love to clean. It's almost relaxing and I do it joyfully, singing and dancing! Maybe it's because I'm all alone or maybe it's because I'm "all alone!" (Get my drift?!)

Dishes! Ugh! I don't really like laundry either, but I would rather do laundry than dishes. Both laundry and dishes seem to just appear out of no where. Are they really using all those dishes. Are they getting a new cup every time they need a drink. Who is using all the silverware? What are they using them for? Where are all those sippy cups? I have to search in the toy box, behind the couch, in the van and car for the missing cups because I am down to 2 and at least 6 are missing with sour milk in them. Ugh! Oh, and those plastic storage bowls that I put my husbands lunch in that slowly disappear until I have none left and have to ask him where are my dishes. He brings in piles of plastic storage bowls from the trunk of his car that are absolutely disgusting. Ugh!

Did they wear those clothes or did they knock the hanger out of the closet and put it in the hamper instead of back in the closet? I honestly have found clothes in their hamper still on a hanger! Did they wear all those under clothes or did they spill the drawer and just throw them in the hamper. Those clothes look clean to me! I feel like I just wash and rewash lots of clean clothes and a few dirty! I often find clothes in the laundry that are way to big for my youngest son and way to little for my oldest son. I know good and well they have not been worn. I have to wash them though because they are contaminated with the scuzzy undies that I found on top of them. I count the school uniforms and find all the pieces to their Sunday outfits before washing. Half of the time, I have to order them to recheck their room because I am missing laundry. I finally get mad and go look for my self. My oldest sleeps on the top bunk and his bed is full of junk (books, toys, cds, clothes and an overload of comforters and sleeping bags). I usually find the missing clothes in his bed. I make him clean it up and put everything where it belongs and the next day it is full again.

Angie, I'm with you on cleaning the car!

Although my least favorite chore is cleaning the (white) grout lines throughout both bathrooms and my kitchen, as well as my foyer. Who in the world puts white tile and white grout throughout a whole house?? UGH! But fortunately, we found that Clorox Bleach pens work really well for this, and I pay my 8 year old $5/hr to clean the grout! LOL (She doesn't get paid for her other chores, but I just HATE cleaning the grout that much!)

What is the chore I abhor, you ask? You are funny!! I don't mind doing dishes, because I'm not really doing them - the dishwasher is doing it! What I dislike is hand washing my pots and pans and good knives - the stuff that cannot go in the dishwasher. I have three kids and there is ALWAYS clothes mountains (clean mountains and dirty mountains). Laundry is a big pain! I do not like vacuuming. Sweeping is fine. Scrubbing - no thank you. I don't mind cleaning the toilet b/c it takes just a few seconds to scrub the bowl. Thanks for the humorous post!

I agree with Danielle. I have three guys in my house who swear they hit the mark every time. I can tell you for a fact they don't. I absolutely hate cleaning the bathroom and it never gets done if I don't do it. Dishes are a close second since my dishwasher broke 10 months ago. Seems like they are never ending. Oh, last one is matching up socks. Don't mind doing the laundry, just hate the socks.

definitely dishes. i don't mind the stuff i can load in the dishwasher but the pots and pans are the worst. so while i'll do dishes everyday by putting some into the dishwasher, i'll have a week's worth of pots and pans in the sink. i get stuck on details so it takes me twice as long to clean dishes than it does my husband. (but he doesn't wash the outside of pans. ick!)

laundry isn't as bad since i have never folded anything. i'd rather hang them up. but now when my 5yo throws a tantrum and gets sent to her room, she pulls everything off the hangars. grrr!!! so now i'm not hanging anything but sorting into bins in her closet. it's a lot faster. sure clothes are a little wrinkled but the kids don't care and neither do it.

it's too bad we can't trade duties in each other's houses. i'll trade you dusting/silverware for pots and pans :P

I hate the idea of doing most chores, but find that once I actually dig in and start doing it it's not so bad, with the exception of...

...LAUNDRY! Hate it hate it hate it. I'm so thankful that my husband does his own laundry and often our son's, but just keeping up with my own is such a drag.

Speak of the devil: I have to go put my laundry in the dryer now. Ugh.

Hate Laundry, Dislike dishes...just like you! I especally hate folding my toddlers clothes. Some just don't lay flat, and get a little funky to fold nicely, it's soooooo frustrating.
Plus, and dishes/laundry have this in common, it's never ending. At least when I dust, I know I wont have to do it for a week, but even when I bust my butt and wash every last dish (no dishwasher), one single lonely piece of silverware, or a coffee mug magically appears, same with the flippin' laundry. Maybe I am just venting because I know I have a sink full of dishes and about 8 loads of laundry to catch up on tomorrow. ;)

Dishes. Especially since our dishwasher broke almost a year ago, and getting it fixed means not only REPLACING the durn thing (the part costs more than a new machine), but also tearing out the floor around it (the previous owners, in their infinite wisdom, when they redid the kitchen built it AROUND the appliances). In order to get the DW/ or oven out, the floor has to be cut out (the counters are a solid, single piece of granite. I COULD lift that off of them -about 1000 lbs- but those pieces have a tendency to crack. I would rather deal with cutting out the floor.

I cook 2 "real" meals a day (brunch and dinner), but 5 meals a day are eaten in our home. Lunch is often also a hot meal. I DESPISE dishes. I wash them 5 times a day except when my H helps with dinner dishes. <winking> Then of course, he considers that he does *all* the dishes. Ditto when he does 2 loads of laundry in a week. Funny man. I do 2 loads a DAY, and kiddo does 3 loads a week.

The same to chores you loathe. When we bought our house we gutted it except the kitchen. We don't have a dishwasher in our house. Therefore, I feel like I am always washing dishes. And laundry is another never ending battle. We have four kids three of which are in soccer and my husband works outdoors. I am always behind when it comes to laundry. So yes I Feel ya!

The refrigerator.
There is a place on Main Street that used to wash and fold all your clothes for a fee. If you can find the laundromat go there and get them to do your most miserable chore.

Washing silverware! Ha! I love to scrub the pots and pans, and other chores are fine, but washing silverware. Ugh. My husband actually included that in a poem he wrote and read at our wedding!

Or cleaning out the old junk from the fridge. Shudder...
