Can anyone suggest a nice farm in or near Essex County where I could take my 6 year old son, 4 year old daughter, and 2 & 1 year old nephews to go pumpkin picking?
go out on 78 west to 206... go to Clinton area.. Ort Farms is awesome and a lot of fun.. nice ride maybe 40 minutes.

I own a preschool and we go every year to Fairfield Farms, located on Big Piece Road in Fairfield. They have hayrides, a maze, and an obstacle course that the kids love.
I don't know how far this is for you, but Wrightman's farms in Morristown is great!
Alstede Farms in Chester is fantastic too. They have hay rides, apple picking, a bouncy castle, animals to feed, etc.
Our family goes to Fairfield Farms in Fairfield, nj. They have an obstacle course made primarily of hay and wood, a corn maze, and hay maze, hayride, pumpkin sling shot (for the 6yo) big pumpkin patch, and a little one with little pumpkins that even the 1yo might be able to pick up. Very simple, child-friendly place.
