I seen all the Kindergarten posts, and maybe I missed something; but none for Preschool. My 2 children are really close in age and I wanted to send them both to preschool at the same time. Since my oldest will miss the chance to go to Kindergarten this fall (recently read in other posts). I have no idea what the age limit and time limit for ages are. Nor what is required of them to attended. Any help would be much appreciated! Thanks in Advance!

What can I do next?

The rest of these answers have good advice, but I wanted to chime in that here in Carlsbad (wasn't sure where you were), the options for pre-k are the public school's DD program (developmentally delayed), head start, or one of the private schools. Each has different requirements, so just check around. We were blessed to work through the child development center at a local facility. They sat us down and gave us all the options.

If your husband is active duty your kids automatically qualify for head start or public preschool. I think the minimum age is 4 by Sept 1 for preschool, 3 for head start.

Good luck.

Check with the schools to find out what the age limits are. Most of the time you can check out programs online at the school web-site. I seen where someone said you you're children can go to pre-k if you are active duty. Check with the school district there. I'm a district employee where I live and active duty military still have to fall in a low-income bracket for pre-k as well as free or reduced lunches.

There could be some down falls to having them in pre-school together. My daughter and her sister were together in pre-school, and although things were pretty good most of the time, they would fight at school because of friends.

Just a little insight.

Good Luck

Go to your local elementary school and find out all you can. My son is 4 and can't start school until the fall because when I tried getting him last fall, they never told me until the first day of school that he had to be fully potty-trained. At the time, he had not gone poop in the potty(he is going now, thank goodness). It meant that every time he pooped in his pants, the school would call me out of school to come up there to change him. The only way the school would change him was if he was wet. Make sure you ask about every thing. I wish I did before I enrolled him. I pulled him out on his first day of school because he wasn't fully potty-trained. Please do not do your kids what I did to my son.

mine are 2 ( and a half) and 4. You can start them in a preschool. My eldest boy has a speach delay and was able to start school at 3, as soon as younger son turns 3 he will also be starting school, making them only a grade apart. They both attend Howard Early childhood center. ( He did not have to be fully potty trained either at age 3 1/2 had just started wearing under pants with a few accidents )This school is run though the AHISD. Then when tthey are ready for first grade go on to elementry....ie might look into a prepschool. Also as far as when and what age to stat school would find out what school district you live in and call them. The register will be able to further tell you. For example our four year old is a Dec baby so would have been held back from Kinder' along with younger boy who is born Sept 3 ( in our area the cut of date is after Sept 1) Each school district is diffrent....the best advice that I can think of is to call your school district or even better the local elementry school and ask

Donna is correct. Children of the military are allowed to attend Pre-K. You need to check with your local school district and find out when their enrollment is.

Hi! My advice to you would be to call the local school district that your children would be attending school and see what their requirements are. I know that some school districts you have to be low income to attend pre school. But being that you are a Millitary Wife if might be different for you. From what I understand the schools are enrolling children that have a parent in the millitary in pre school. Now I could be wrong but that is what happened last year.

you might look into a Monissori school. They accept children at early ages. If not there are a lot of great day cares, which are learning centers and offer a full curriculum.
