So What Happened?

You can make your profile private so only the people you accept to look at it. I feel it is thee same thing as facebook except you don't have all the drama on twitter like you do facebook. I prefer twitter over facebook any day!!!!! I don't know why so many people like facebook. Each to their own opinion

yes I do. I have a smaller group of followers than I do with FB so I tweet things that I don't on FB. Mostly keep in touch with my sister on twitter.

Yea, I like twitter, I have a small group of friends with the same interests and it is fun to discuss up to the minutes issues. You can control who reads your tweets by blocking anyone you don't want to follow you and you only follow the people you want to.

Nope. I looked at it and it looks like a way to just tell people what your doing throughout the day. To me, it has a bad layout that is confusing and doesn't flow very well. It's not a "profile" like facebook (to me anyways), it just looks like a list of random thoughts (tweets) and favorites.

I lOVE twitter!! I can post anything and only my close friends and family even know it's me, because my name isn't plastered on the page. I post links to sites I like or think are important. I can do pretty much what you would do on facebook, but I don't have to "like" people, accept friends or deny them. People don't typically tweet that they are doing their laundry or that their kid is sick and expect comments. I follow many celebritites and it's more ...free...I suppose. The comments after the Academy Awards several months ago, made me almost pee myself- they were so funny. Also, I find out about wordly stuff VERY fast. There was even a twitter post hinting at something big coming up in the news before it was announced that Bin Laden had been killed.

I had facebook for awhile, but I felt that it was just a way for people to brag about themselves and their fabulous lives. I know that sounds bad, but man, I got tired of seeing it every time I logged on. Plus, the pressure to "friend" really got to me. Sure, I got to re-connect with an old co-worker and a friend who moved away in high school. BUT, I also had some people "friend" me who I never had any desire to ever talk to or correspond with again. I ignored this request, until this person started harrassing my mom about getting in touch with me. (she lived in the same town I went to high school in and my mom still lives there). Then, there's all the rambling, song lyrics, nonsense that clogs up the facebook stream. On twitter, I can just unfollow and it's no big deal. On facebook, it can be very complicated and it's more personal-which isn't always a good thing when it's Internet.

I would definitely recommend twitter. Go to twitter and search for some of your favorite celebritites. Many of them have accounts. Get a handful of people you follow and it will eventually snowball from there. Twitter will also suggest people you might want to follow after you get a couple. I follow Tom Hanks, Maria Shriver, Chelsea Handler, Christina Applegate, breaking news, omgfacts, the onion, whole foods, seth meyers (SNL), conan o'brien, people magazine, redneckmommy, espn, damnyouautocorrect (hilarious!) real simple magazine, actuallyNPH (neil patrick harris), thepioneerwoman.....I could go on for awhile......you can follow your favorite stores, etc.

Oh yeah! I follow momswhosave and have gotten a couple great deals! During the holidays, I followed blackfriday and cybermonday and it paid off.

To each their own, but twitter is definitely better in my opinion!

I don't but I've never understood it. Can anyone tell me if you can control who is on your twitter account? Or can anyone in the world see what you write?

I have yet to figure out what all the hoopla is about with twitter. I have an account but it's all foreign to me and I'm totally not comfortable with it.... so I axed it.
