I was wondering if any moms out there have any information on this particular preschool, first hand or not. If it is a good school academic wise and who the Director is, and how the staff is etc. Any information will be helpful on our quest to find a great preschool. We were referred to New Life Preschool in Cerritos (Where we live) but they are completely full for the next school year. Thanks so much.

A great school is Calvary Chapel Cypress School. They get little homework packets that help them learn to count and trace letters and numbers and the environment is very warm and loving.

Hi L.,

I spent some time visiting Tutor Time/Lakewood a few years back when I was searching for a preschool. Here's my humble opinion: it was very cute but the teachers were more interested in socializing with each other and paid very little attention to the children. The entire time I was there the teachers were talking about the Lakers, their plans for the weekend, and even a boyfriend. Needless to say, I chose a different school.

My son has been attending the Montessori Children's House off Bloomfield/Centrailia since he was 2 1/2 and we LOVE, LOVE,LOVE it. We even kept him there for Kindergarten because of the individualized attention. He is aging out after this year and we are very sad to leave in June. The Director is named Dr. Perrah (she is also my son's teacher) and is absolutely wonderful! The school's number is ###-###-####. It's OK to tell them that Brandon's mom referred you.I think your child would love it. They have chickens, rabbits, a vegetable garden which the children planted and even a real tree house.

Long Beach City College has a great preschool program. The phone # is ###-###-#### for the Liberal Arts Campus, and ###-###-#### for the Pacific Coast Campus. My 11 year old boy attended there when he was 3-4 and we both had a wonderful time.
Sorry I don't know anything about Tutor Time.
Good Luck,

I don't know anything about the school you mention but my daughter has gone to Wonderland School on the corner of Canehill and Artesia since pre-K. They will take children as long as they are potty trained. The school goes up to the 4th grade. We love it and so does she. It is owned by a husband and wife. His parents started the school back in 1958 at the same location. It goes from 6:30AM until 6PM year round. They are closed very little and have a lot to offer. I would recommend it to anybody. We are very pleased with it and are not looking forward to having to move her to another school as she will be in 4th grade next year. Good luck!

Hi L., I know this probably won't help you, but both of my children went to Tutor Time when we lived in Arizona, and I think it was the best place on earth! I'm not sure how the one in Cerritos compares, but if they are all "the same" then it would be a good idea. I really liked that they give little progress reports each day for the kids, especially the younger ones, like how many BM's my son had, what he ate and how much, what words he said that say, etc... and were very good with my daughter in an academic setting, even though it isn't a school. Good luck!!!
