I want to get rid of the excess tummy weight. I recently had baby #3 and have been overweight since baby #1 but am finally getting rid of the weight but the tummy weight will not go away. Any suggestions.

What can I do next?

You need to check out prevention.com. I have found that it has helped me a lot. Many great recipes and exercises.

Assuming you are "eating right" and exercising, you should keep doing what you are doing. Exercise that gets your heart rate up, along with that which increases your lean muscle mass is what will make the fat disappear. When you hit a fat-loss plataeu, then you need to change up your exercise routine. For example, do interval training, incorporate free weights, etc. Your body is most likely going to lose fat last in the place you wish it would leave first--your tummy. When I was a personal trainer, I was 5'5", 115 lbs. of solid muscle with a little bit of fat still left on my tummy. It was the very last fat to go. Good luck to you. Don't give up!!

This is what I do and it helps me loose weight pretty quickly and well (but each person is different!). I eat fruit in the mornings up until noon. I can eat as much as I want. Fruit will give you energy for the rest of the day. It's GREAT for that. My sister-in-law did the only fruit in the morning for about six months and said that she lost ten pounds. That was the only thing she had done different.

I make sure to not sit for long periods of time. I get up and move around a lot, keeping myself busy. I eat food made from scratch as much as possible - no or little eating out. Eating out is so bad and will pack the pounds on the belly. I try to avoid white flour, sugar, desserts, etc. I only drink water, rarely juice.

Eating really healthy helps a lot. Plus I nursed and that helped a ton.

You can do exercises as well, like Pilates, that will help strengthen your core and help you tone up more.

Anyway, that's what I do and it works great for me. I know each person is different!

keep an honest food diary for 2 weeks. it will shock you how much 3 bites of this and 2 bites of that add up to lots of calories. then find out how many calories you really need in a day and cut out one or two things at a time, not everything. if your weaknesses are chocolate treats, hi cal coffee drinks every morning, and salty snacks, work on one a week. if you do it all at once, you will feel deprived and cheat. been there done that! if you aren't doing any exercise at all, start small, like a walk around the block or an exercise tape. don't overdo it at first or you might injure yourself. at first any movement is better than no movement. lastly don't forget your water, fiber and nutrients. just because you lose weight doesn't mean you should eat less nutritious low cal foods. just make your calories count!

If possible eat everything but White Bread, White Rice, White Sugar based items... 3 dangerous culprits and start walking.. also if you can replace your last meal with a big bowl of Broth base any meat and Vegetable soup.
