TTC & 9 Days Late!!

So me and my husband have been trying to get prego since I stopped my BC the end of April. Since then I've not missed a period til now. I've had two days where I had some clotting but it was only when I peed so a total of 4 clots in 2 days. Other than that I've only had brown spotting here and there. I've taken tons of tests after missed period and negative. I'm now 9 days late, still no period and a negative blood test. My last period was June 29 2013. Meaning I wldve ovulated around July 10 2013. So would I technically be about 3 weeks prego and that's why I'm getting negative tests??

What can I do next?

So What Happened?

I was tracking my ovulation and did ovulate July 10. And have still not had a period.

How do you know you ovulated around July 10? Are you charting or even using ovulation sticks? If you're just looking at a Calendar and guessing, it's not very correct at predicting ovulation, especially coming of BC pills. At this point, you are not pregnant, pee sticks and blood tests would have confirmed. If it were me, I'd retest every few days until I got a positive or my period came. If period came, I would chart to be certain of ovulation.

I'm sorry you are going through this. A negative blood test is pretty definitive on top of all the other tests. The spotting isn't always a bad sign, but clotting is not a good thing. I think you should accept that you are not pregnant, and stop spending money on all those repeat tests at this point. It's frustrating to TTC and those of us who have been through it really sympathize, but it's important that you not stress yourself out with constant tests. Sometimes we just have to let nature take its course and try to be patient.

A blood test is the be-all-end-all determination of whether or not you're pregnant. If it was negative, then you're not pregnant yet. If you get to the point where you miss a second period and end up 8 weeks late then request a second blood test and ultrasound. If it still turns out you're not pregnant at that point without having your period for two months in a row your OB/GYN will need to figure out why.

As it stands now, you're not three weeks pregnant. I'm sorry.

"weeks pregnant" begins at the first day of your last period. So, if your last period was July 29th you would be FIVE WEEKS PREGNANT regardless of WHEN you ovulated.

Are you charting? If you aren't charting.... you have NO IDEA when you ovulate, so you can't speculate.

However, it doens't sound like you are pregnant and the clotting would not be a good sign, if you were.

Blood tests can tell HCG levels of a miniscule amount... so if your blood test is registering negative that means it's not picking up any HCG, which would mean you would not be pregnant.

I'm sorry.

Start charting next month so that you can tell when you are actually fertile.

Good Luck..

Julie:

Because you're not pregnant. A blood test is 100% accurate. If it's negative. You are NOT pregnant. I'm sorry.

Stop taking tests. You are stressing yourself out to the point of putting stress on your body - and it's in fight or flight mode. And it's FIGHTING YOU.

The stress you are putting on your body to TRY and WANT to be pregnant is HUGE. STOP. I know that you want this. I get it. But stop. Have sex for fun. Stop timing everything. Have sex for fun.

Good luck!

I'm sorry, but if a blood test is showing no pregnancy, there isn't one. That coupled with the spotting/clotting, I wouldn't hold out hope that you may be. Blood test are concrete.

TTC and it not happening is very frustrating, it is probably throwing your body off. It took me almost 3 yrs to conceive my son, so I feel your pain.

I hope it happens for you soon, but don't think it happened this time.

Remember it can take your body awhile to adjust after you stop bc.

I'm sorry, but it doesn't sound like you are pregnant. The home pregnancy test are very reliable but the blood test is definitive. Stress and other factors can make your period late.
(The pregnancy test showed positive on the first day of my missed period with all 4 of my pregnancies.)

At 9 days late, I would think a pregnancy test would be very accurate. In addition to that, implantation bleeding does not involve clotting. Wait a week and take another test. If the test is still negative, then see your doctor.

I don't think you are pregnant, but anything is possible I suppose.

ETA: Obviously I was in a hurry and totally missed you had a blood test. Your blood test definitely would have come up positive. You are not pregnant.

At this point it could go either way.
Either you are pregnant and it's too soon for a test to tell (read up about when implantation happens) or you're so excited and keyed up that you've thrown your cycle off and you're not pregnant.
Relax!
Either way getting worked up about it won't change anything.

Negative blood test pretty much means you aren't pregnant. Sometimes, the stress of trying to conceive can cause a late period. Take care of yourself, relax and make sure you are taking pregnancy vitamins for when you do conceive. (You need them the first 8 weeks to prevent neural tube defects like spina bifida, as well as some forms of cleft palates.)

Good luck!

Are you using a digital fertility monitor? If not, I highly suggest it. We were TTC. My husband and I did testing and some fertility treatments to no avail. Finally got pregnant on our own after about a year of trying. When my son was 6 months old we thought we better start trying for our second in case it took awhile. This time around I borrowed a monitor from a friend and purchased my own testing sticks. It took the guess work out of everything! It takes a month for the monitor to know your cycle, but we were pregnant the next month. My kids are only 16.5 months apart!
We thought we had fertility problems at first. Turns out we just weren't pinpointing the magic window correctly and getting all stressed out about it.
Seriously. Any pharmacy sells monitors or go online and get a used on Amazon or Ebay. We used the Clearblue Easy monitor. Worth every penny!
Good luck!
