Trying to Decide Between 2 Strollers: Uppababy Vista or Baby Jogger City Select?

We finally managed to narrow down our stroller search to the final two options.
We saw them both in the store yesterday, and love them both.
What we essentially want in a stroller is:
* Single stroller that would have the option (if the need arises) to add another seat in the future
* Smooth ride, easy to maneuver
* Hold up well in Chicago (snow, sleet, ice, etc.)
* Have a bassinet feature in addition to regular seat
* Have a reclining, reversible seat
* Easy to fold

We feel both strollers meet all of these criteria, and when we factor in all the costs (Uppababy is pricier, but the bassinet and a few other additions are included) they are comparable. So it really comes down to user experience.
Which is why I'd love feedback from Moms who have one or the other, or know of Moms who are either happy or dissatisfied with either brand.

Thanks!

We have the uppa vista and the citi mini Jogger (thank you very generous MIL). We also had a graco travel system.

the uppa has a bigger basket, and the seat adjusts more easily (one of four fixed positions). It is sturdier, and allegedly can even be driven on the beach. the main downside to the uppa is that it is really big and bulky. it gets stuck in supermarket aisles, and takes up the whole trunk if you mean to travel with it.

the citymini has the one hand fold which is really convenient. its got an ample sunshade, and is sturdy. its light and it drives well. on the down side, it has a strap and cinch mechanism for the seat adjustment (not so convenient). the foot rest isn't adjustable. there is no cupholder, or child tray included, and the basket won't hold much at all.

I stand 5'1" tall. Hubs is 5'11". the uppa can adjust up for taller people. (it doesn't adjust down enough to be comfortable for me). the city mini has a fixed handle.

The uppa has an arched brace accross the back. This is convenient because you don't kick your feet into that metal support that the mini has. the down side, you can't step on the bar to get some leverage to lift the front wheels up a curb, or over an uneven sidewalk.

one last factor to consider, is washability of the seat etc. I know that the uppa vista 2010 is not machine washable. I think the same is true for the mini. thankfully we haven't had any diaper blowouts or vomit incidents, but if we were to, I don't relish the thought of having to handwash either.

both are sound choices. If you are going to have only one or the other, think hard about your environment and usage. are you car people, are you big walkers, do you actually jog, will you be on subways and buses?

good luck and congrats to you.

I have the bugaboo and the baby jogger city mini, my vote is the baby jogger. It's built to take a beating!

I had a vista and loved it. Not to mention the Uppa Baby customer service. I really think it will come down to primary function. I prefer the Vista as a single. I prefer the city select as a double. So, if you're looking for a single stroller with the possible double option, I'd vote vista. If you're looking for a double stroller, with a possible single option, then go city select (i.e. you're having your second, twins, or are planning closely spaced siblings).

We have the Uppa and love it! We live in chicago, and walk everywhere. My son is 2.5 and still fits in it perfectly. The basket is huge and we added the snack tray this past spring.
I don't know much about the City jogger, but we used the city mini with our nanny share family and it did not push as well as the Uppa.

We're going with the Citi Select for our twins. I know we have to pay extra for the car seat attachments, but we think it's worth it. We aren't even thinking about the bassinet. The Citi Select almost fully recline, so while their legs will be a little bent because of the seat design, they will be almost flat and that is good enough for us, since they will either be in there carseat or in the regular seats.

My friend has the City Select, and she loves it. We call it the magic stroller. I think it's really good if you have more than one child, because you don't really have to think about whether you need to bring the single or double stroller. With the buggy board, you can actually push three kids on it.

I've never heard of the other one.
