We are going to be participating in a "Trunk or Treat" this Halloween. We have never done this before so I thought as creative as some of you out there are, y'all would probably have some good ideas on how to decorate for this. We have a Tahoe or we can decorate an older Jeep Wrangler for the event. Does anyone have any great ideas they'd like to share with me? Thanks so much!!!!!

I love trunk or treats! One thing that got really good reactions at the last one we went to was a spider that reacted to motion. Kids would come up to get candy and the spider would scoot down the string. Anything battery-powered that will move, shriek, or light up will be popular. Add some garlands and creepy spider webs, and you'll be in good shape.

One thing I think is cute to do with an SUV is have it set up like a photo booth so the parents can set their children inside to take pics. Make a scene with hay, pumpkins, potted mums in fall colors. use drapes or sheets in black for a backdrop and to cover the sides of the car opening. You can hang twinkle lights inside as well. If you want it ot look like stars you cna either poke holes in the black sheet and put the lights behind it or you can get black fabric with silver glitter dots on it. After the kids have their picture taken you let them get their candy. You could also have a polaroid camera ready for the ones that didn't bring a camera.

I didn't even know about this concept until now, but we're planning to take an old Little Tikes kid's car and use it to fill with candy. I painted it black and put black spidery drapes on the windows, and we'll just FILL it to the top with candy and park it by our own vehicle. I put those push-on lights on it so it would be lit in the dark - 2 yellow happy face lights on the front for headlights, and one brighter white light on the back as a taillight (originally it was so my daughter could ride it at dusk and be brightly lit)... It's going to be so cute and fun :-)

The links you got there are pretty good; check them out. And God bless you and your 3 sweet darlings.

with your vehicle you could decorate the back of the truck with spider webs, place pumpkins on the tailgate, play some Halloween music, if you have electricity or something you can plug into the lighter you could do lights or fog machine! how fun!

if you can find like a huge white or black sheet or even dye a sheet orange and drape it across your vehicle... make googly eye balls or pumpkin eyes and place them on the rear lights of the trunk. at the base of the trunk cut a goofy smile or pumpkin smile. interior of the trunk, hang a sheet of matching color from top to base of trunk, and lay out the goodies in the trunk. on either side of the vehicle a battery operated pumpkins... good luck.
