Hi there, first of all, congratulations X3!!!!!!!!!!!! I have triplets and when I first went to see the ob drs. they couldn't see the yolk in the third sac or a heart beat for a while, I believe I was well into my 15 week before they told me that the 3rd. sac or baby was still sticking around, it was always meassuring behind schedule than the other but guess what, my little peanut is now almost 5 years old, she was smaller than the other 2 but she did the best of the 3 at birth and my trio were born at 32 weeks so I hope that it is just a matter of a few weeks to be able to see something more clear in the u/s, Im sure your ob have asked you to come back again in a week or so, please if you need more info don't hesitate to ask, take care, drink lots of fluids and good luck on your next appointment.

take care,

I.

B.,

After I delivered my baby, my doctor had to break my water for me. I heard him call out that "I had two sacks inside of me", but we knew that it was only one baby. I never asked him about it, but it did make me wonder later. I do know that sometimes things that are shown on early ultrasounds may not be what they seem. It is a good idea to prepare your self mentally for the thought of having triplets, but try not to drive yourself crazy until you get the final confirmation. Has anyone ever been told that they had mutiple sacks with a single birth? ....I know wierd !

Hi B.,
I'm not too familiar with being pregnant with multiples, but I can tell you that ultrasounds can have a variation of +/- 1-2 weeks especially that early on. Another responder had suggested going to BabyCenter.com on their boards. I highly recommend that as well, especially to the ultrasound board. The host of the ultrasound board is a sonographer and there are a couple of other techs on there as well and they would be able to give you some reassurance about what you should or should not be seeing at this point. Here is the link for that website:

Where it says Top Boards, click on the first board for Ultrasounds. You will have to join BBC like you do for Mamasource in order to post anything.

Good Luck!!
