So What Happened?

Ladies, thank you for all of your suggestions -- I am going to compare the benefits of each recommendation and hopefully decide/purchase this weekend. This really saves me A LOT of time!!

I dont have a recommendation on what brand to buy, but when you go to buy one, If you are looking to save some money I would find a "Play it Again" sports store. I know there is one here by my house here in Oswego in Mason square. They always have them and are very well priced.

The best one NordicTrac TreadClimber. Trust me, I know its a lot of money but thier advertisement is true! I've lost weight on it right away. I only do half hour and it's equivalent to an hour of workout. 5 years ago I paid $2,500 for the unit. It's probably cheaper now. Anyways, gyms don't even offer this because NordicTrack won't sell it them.

Hope you will choose this machine. It's really worth the investment.

We purchased a Horizon Fitness model DT850 a few years ago from Sport Authority, they were really helpful for your needs. It's a mid-range model that will handle a few miles daily with no problem. We did have to replace the fly-wheel right away as that is a problem with this model but it was sent at no charge and took dh 20 min to replace it. Other than that, no problems. I do recommend paying for installation if you can swing it as the motor end is REALLY heavy and we had an issue in carrying it in and putting it in the basement (so worth the money to pay the guys to do it). Good luck.

Hi K.:

Not sure why, but I would consider myself a brand name shopper. I do like bargains, but tend to me a name follower. When it came time to buy a treadmill, I did a ton of research as I am known to do (drives my husband a bit crazy). Believe it or not, we ended up purchasing our treadmill 3 years ago at Walmart - no joke! It is a great machine that gets used by both of us at least 5 days per week, per person. I cannot believe how impressed I am with the quality as such a low, low price. It also folds up if you have limited space. Good luck with your search!

We bought our treadmill at Sears about 3 years ago. It is a Proform. I love it. It has been used daily for the past 2 years and no problems yet. My parents also bought a Proform from Sears 4 years ago.
I just bought an elliptical at Sears b/c I wanted a change.
Good luck!
