Any suggestions on a good travel potty seat (not chair). I have been looking for one with a splash guard and cannot find one. I already have one for the toilet seat at home that has a guard...I am looking for a fold-up portable option.

So What Happened?

Thanks everyone for all the advice. Yes we are going on vacation soon so I wanted a more portable option that folded up, but I was hoping for one with a splash guard. Thanks for all the advice!

I have the fold up one and hate it. I tried to use it once and it is so shaky that I stopped. I was afraid that it was going to fall into the toliet and my daughter too as she got on and off of it!

they sell the little seat cushion type things that sit on top of a real toilet at walmart. i bought 2 a few years ago and have seen them there since....the ones they have come with splash guard in front for boys. and some of them have handles on the side so your little one can hold onto and doesn't have to touch the big toilet at all.

My son is 15 now, but we got a fold up one at Babies R Us when he was little. But when we were out in public my husband and I always just let him stand backwards on the toilet seat (we held him of course) and let him pee down into the toilet. Much easier than dragging a toilet seat around.

We also use the Potette Plus and love it! I have 3 year old twins and when my son was potty training, my daughter would actually want to sit on it when she hadn't started training yet. I take it everywhere with us. It folds pretty compactly and can be used with the liners or on top of the toilet seat. I purchased ours at babies r us, but I know amazon has it and also one step ahead. It has gotten lots of good reviews and all of my friends with younger children use this seat and love it. It's so easy to put between the car seats on a long trip and pull over for them to use instead of having to find a rest stop. Good luck!

Don't sweat it. If you must, let him pee in the bushes :) :) :)

PS Thinking you are trying to find something convenient and light for traveling...

I bought one at Babies R US. May have the same one at Toys R Us. It folds up. No splash shield. Comes in a carrying bag and you buy plastic bags to go over it. We use it a lot when camping. Even last year when my boys were 4 & 6. I actually keep it in my car "Just in case". Might be made by First Years or something like that. I would say give Babies R Us a try - they had a few options from what I remember. HTH

I bought one of those fold up ones.. it wasn't sturdy therefore my daughter wasn't confident in it's ability to hold her... We used it once she refused afterwards... if you're looking for something to put in your bag I'd suggest the disposible/flushable seat covers and help hold them (if you're talking public toliets.. plus I always bring wipes and wipe down the seats. Plus I found the one I bought didn't fit public seats properly. good luck xo

I LOVED the travel potty by One Step Ahead. It compact and folds up to almost look like a brief case so it's easy to take with. It has storage and you use 1 gallon zip lock bags. We would keep it in the van but could easily take it with us to the zoo, park, etc. It was $24.95 and worth every penny!!!!

I agree...the fold up from One Step Ahead is nice. However, my son soon learned to just hold on or hold me when we didn't always want to carry the seat. So I carry travel pack of Wet Ones in my back pocket to wipe down the seat first. I taught my guy to hold his wee down with one finger....he caught on quickly because he get really upset if he wet on himself!

Babies R Us and Toys R Us have a folding seat that is small and easy to pack in the diaper bag. It has Sesame Street characters on it. There is another one they sell called Potette Plus. It doesn't fold but it works in two ways -- it can sit on top of the toilet or the legs fold down and it is a potty that you put bags with liners in when there's no toilet around. It's a bit bulkier but great because it's multi-use. Would fit in a bigger diaper bag. Haven't seen any with the splash guard. From what I've always read you should just teach them to use their finger to point "it" down :)

Not sure if this is what you are looking for or not, but IKEA has a potty seat, we have 3 of them, one for down stairs, one for up stairs, and one in the car. They are only about $3 each

We used the Potette Plus - it's not exactly a fold-up potty chair but it can be a standalone (and comes with liners) or it can extend to go over a regular toilet. My daughter loved it! It was compact, we could take it anywhere and helped her transition to a regular toilet. Good luck!

PS- I think I got it from One Step Ahead so I'm not sure if this is the potty seat the others are referring to :)
