Our family does a lot of traveling and I have been wanting to get one of the handheld computer games for our kids. We have 2 boys ages 3 & 5. The 2 I have been looking at are V.Smile and Leapfrog (Leap Pad maybe). Any of you have eiter of these for your kids? Can you tell me likes/dislikes etc. I am leaning towards the V.Smile one, since they both seem to be about the same price, however the game cartridges seem a little cheaper for V.Smile than Leapfrog. Thanks for the advise!

What can I do next?

We have both and my kids used the leapster more. I like that the leapster games go up to higher grade levels than the v-smile. I just asked which they prefer and they said the v-smile so I guess it just depends on which games appeal to your children. I believe both systems can hook up to TV's now aw well.

We have a "Leapster." My friend's have too. It's great!
It teaches children "educational" skills... but in a fun way.
I would recommend it.

Amazon.com has them... and usually at a discounted price with free shipping. Walmart online also carries it.

Both my kids enjoy it... my eldest being 5 going on 6 years old, and my youngest at just 24 months old. They BOTH use it. It's great in the car or anywhere to keep them occupied.

I have not found any "dislikes" with the Leapster we bought...it's been dropped and is durable, no breakage, not problems, batteries last awhile, we also got the case for it... it's a great fun/educational toy. I rate it 5-stars.

Good luck,
Susan

We have a leap pad. The kids are now 8,8, and 10 and still get it out from time to time to play the "games" I loved it because you could plug in headphones (with three going it got noisy) and they were learning and not realizing it. :)

The leappad we have are over 4 or 5 years old now... and still working like a charm.

Hi
My 4 year old son has the Laepfrog leapster. He LOVES it. The games are a little expensive, but you can usually find good deals on them on ebay and at Children's Orchard
Good luck
