TRAIN Themed 2Nd Birthday

For the train idea:
-get Thomas the train invites from the Party store or Wal-mart
-get a train pinata for the older kids
- have a train set up on the living room floor or table if you don't want anyone to play with it
-get big cardboard boxes from a refrigerator store & make a big one to have in the living room for them to play in. Cut out windows. It can be elementary.
-have train cut outs to put on the wall (from party store)
-for party favors: whistles, kleidescopes (sp?)
-hv some cheap train conductor hats for them to wear
-make your own train cake (2 circles & one rectangle) then frost w/colored
frosting the colors of your choice
-you can have a Thomas the Train video playing
-food for a lot of people? spaghetti, lasagna, pizza w/appetizers that are
kid friendly

Shutterfly might have train invites. I like shutterfly because you can put your child's picture on the invite. Just google 'train birthday party'. Also, party express (online) usually has a ton of themes. Fun idea!

The train theme is not only great for little boys, but the easiest. There's so much out there. Besides having good ol' Thomas, there's a lot of general train party stuff. Visita party store like Party Depot or Party City. They have a whole aisle of it. Birthday Express online is great. Also look at orientaltrading.com they have a lot of good stuff for parties.

I did a Thomas the tank theme. I bought large stiff white board type paper and drew a Thomas the Tank engine on it. Then I made train whistles and played pin the whistle on Thomas. I also drew train tracks circling all over the driveway leading to the house. I think I bought or made a train bingo game also. I can't remember too much as it was like 11 years ago. If you google a thomas the tank party I am sure you will get more ideas. Oh and I had train whistles for the favor.
