Does anyone have any suggestions for where to get nice looking well made wooden toy storage units for our family room? We are trying to create a family room in our basement that makes the best use of space for our treadmill, storage for the kids' toys, a television and a chair or two. I like the Pottery Barn shelving units but the reviews aren't that great (wood easily scratches, etc.)

we just bought generic bookshelves and canvas storage bins that fit on the shelves. We have these in our DD's room and the living room and they work pretty well. Other things are in rubbemaid tubs, like barbies and barbie clothes, dress up clothes, and coloring books/crayons/markers.

I second Ikea. Great prices, decent quality when kids are involved and they look nice. My daughter has a storage bench in her room and it's very sturdy and have had no issues with paint scratching or anything like that. And, I hear ya on the toy storage. No matter how hard I try to organize, it always gets messed up! Arghhh.
We got a leather ottoman that opens at the top. You can buy one big storage chest/ottoman or they have 2 compartments or 4. We got the 4 compartments so we can keep blankets in one, video games in the other and toys in the other 2. It is a great space saver and it looks awesome!
