Does anyone have any toy recommendations for the 12-18 month age range? I have a little boy who has an attention span of about 1 minute. Very few things have entertained him as of yet. I work at home 2 days a week and I am looking for some toys that might occupy him for about 10 min at a time. Any suggestions of good ones would be helpful. Thanks.

What can I do next?

We have a 20-month old daughter. She enjoys playing with puzzles and those larger Legos that are available. We also keep her Cozy Coupe in the house, which she enjoys. Unfortunately, her attention span is also short. She basically likes to follow us around and imitate us. You may want to find toys that are similar to things you do.

have you seen the new crayola scribbles? they are for little hands that are just experimenting. they look like round little tubes and dont make as much mess as regular crayons or markers do. when my son was that age, he played with a lot of alphabet learning stuff, like the leap frog caterpillar. the best options for that age are leap frog, vtech, Parents(the toy brand), and have you seen the fisher price little people?

Ikea has a multi-piece train set that is under $20 and made of wood. Very cute for a huge age span. My daughter has beenplaying with them from around age 2 until now at 4.5 years.

My 2 y. 6 mo. old son has loved Discovery Toys so much from the time he was born that I started selling them. www.discoverytoysinc.com Or if you'd like some help picking certain toys to his interests, I'll help & can help you get the toys for a discount, or even free. The toys age ranges go up to 12ish...I just bought Christmas presents for my nephew age 7 & for a cousin 11 (in addition to the ones for my son!). I sell them all for a 10% discount to mamasource ____@____.com or ###-###-#### or order directly online at the full price with my Educational Consultant # HAO390 (horse-alpha-omega-390).

Try a ball pit, my son (now 16 mos) LOVES it. KB Toys is going out of business and has them for $14. I just got a blow up baby pool and put a bag of 100 balls from toys r us in it. My son also has a little basket ball hoop that makes noise when he puts the ball in so he plays with that a lot, also from toys r us.

I have also found that for a little quiet time here and there baby einstein does wonders. I usually sit and read with him while it is on but it gets him to chill out a bit and have some quiet time. This age is tough to get a boy to stay occupied for long!
