I know I've seen this asked on Mamasource, but can't find it in the Requests and Responses... My MIL is asking for gift ideas for my 18 month old daughter for Christmas. What are great gift ideas your kids have received?

What can I do next?

I have 2 boys, but my oldest is 2. We got him the Step 2 kitchen for his b-day. The kitchen is for ages 2 and up. He absolutly loves it! He cooks on it all the time. and we are buying him and his brother a playhouse for outside for Christmas. Good luck

Hi,

I know this doesn't look too exciting but when my daughter was 18 months we got her this and she still plays with it! It is the only toy that hasn't been recycled to the basement!

Around that age my family bought my girls a My first doll house that my four year old still plays with. They also got a leap frog baby. But the best gift my brother got them and does every year is a season pass to the Pittsburgh Zoo. My children love the zoo we go all the time. My mother also buys them tickets to childrens theatre events. Nickelodeon comes to town usually does a dora show in January. It makes for a fun family day after the holiday.

I seem to remember my kids loving push and pull toys at this age, although they are boys! Maybe a shopping cart with plastic foods, or a vacuum cleaner. My boys loved both of those things. Also, love idea from the previous post about the zoo pass. My mom and dad bought me one last year and I went to the zoo at least 5 times this summer, packed lunches, got fresh air and exercise and paid nothing! It is as much a gift for you as for your kids! I bet your newborn baby would just sleep in the stroller, or a baby sling. Great outing for all!
