Help! My house is overrun with stuffed animals and toys that are not used. I am looking for some place to donate them to that can put them to good use. I need to get some space back in my house.

What can I do next?

Hi, You might want to consider taking your stuffed animals and toys to the family homeless shelter in Kingston. It is called Pilgrim's Hope and is located at 149 Bishop's Highway (Route 80) Kingston. The phone number is ###-###-####. They have a shop to sell to those in need, as well as have a shelter for families. They also outfit families with goods when they get low income housing. If you make a list of your items, they will give you a receipt that you can use on your tax return next year.

Also there is a new shop in Plymouth Just like new for kids and Maternity-- http://www.justlikenewforkids.com/ --that will buy toys and children's goods that are in really good condition. I have bought some really great things for my two granddaughter's there. Check out their website. Good luck with your project.

Hope this helps

There is a great charity Cradles to Crayons in Quincy...they support children all over MA. Most charities won't accept stuffed anmimals do to germ concerns (if it had been in a kids mouth....) But for new or like new ones some police and fire stations take them to give to kids involved in accidents, etc. as a way to calm them.

HI. Craddles to Crayons (located in Quincy) takes a lot of those items. The Pembroke womans club does a few drives a year for them (you can try contacting them as well).. Also, there is a shelter in Marhsfield for young families and they might want some of them. Good luck

The DSS office in Plymouth may have a family liason person who could ask at a support group if anyone would like them. Some kids are taken from home with nothing and might like a stuffed animal for comfort. I know new foster parents are always looking for toys for kids of all ages. Just an idea:)

There is a benevolence ministry in Kingston that accepts all sorts of donations. If the toys are in really great shape they would be saved for Christmas. Parents pick out toys for their kids, that would not normally get too many, and then wrap them themselves - if you are interested let me know and I can forward you the contact information.
