Too Old for Diaper Picture?

When my son turned 1 year old I took him in for his 1 year picture and also had some "Mommy and Baby" picturess done where he was wearing just a diaper.

For my daughter I took her in and just got hers done in her Frist Birthday shirt and skirt and said I woudl go back to get the Mommy & Baby ones done. Well, now she is 16 1/2 months old and I am wondering if she is to old for it. I will be going to get our pictures taken together on Sunday, but I am not sure if I should have her clothed or in her diaper ( I do have a little pair of "bloomers" to wear over the diaper.

I don't really have any particular outfit that I am dying to get her picture taken in. I am just not sure if she will look too big for the diaper photo. She is a big girl (wears 24 month/2t clothes. Both my kids are tall. And I do love the idea of the whold chubby legs , "thing. I just don't want it to be something that she looks back on later and says, "WHY did you DO that?!?!?"

Opinions?

What can I do next?

Can you do both?

Honestly, at that age they are so darned cute it won't matter. Even if you put her in an outfit you aren't "dying" to see her in, she will be adorable!

I say you get some clothes shots and some bloomer shots and only buy the ones you like!

Good luck

It's only 4 months later. I don't think she's "too old." Do the diaper pics. I doubt in 30 years when she's going through her baby pics that she'll be upset that you had them done.

You should get a cute tutu dress to put her in. Lots of tulle :)

No, the bloomers would be super cute! Oh, and those lacey rompers and lacy baby leg covers!!

Um...my toddler (2.5) runs around in a diaper only more days than not. Should I not take pictures of her? :) I take a TON of pictures, and yes, half are diaper only...I don't see the problem!!

I get what you're saying, but I think you ought to cherish those moments while you can. She's still a baby. If you want pictures of her in a diaper, nothing should stop you.

I know she'll look adorable. :)

This is not an answer to your question but it reminded me of something funny.

My aunt passed away in June due to complications from a bone marrow transplant. I was helping my 85 year old grandmother go through pictures for the funeral. Then I found it... A picture of my grandmother at 6 months old wearing absolutely nothing! Of course she was laying on her tummy and only her butt cheeks were showing, and it truly was an adorable picture that I will one day steal from her collection and put in my scrapbook (Probably next to the picture of her when she was 82 wearing black lipstick... Yes I put her up to it and she is still trying to steal my copy). However, being the good grandchild that I am... I had to make fun of her :)

Okay, I totally know you're not creepy or anything, but I would check the laws in your state...it might be illegal to take pictures like that of a child over 1 year of age. I know she'll be wearing a diaper so she's technically not naked, but to be honest, I wouldn't do it at a professional place. If you're in your own home and taking semi-naked (or even full on naked!) pictures of your little ones, then I say go for it and put them in the family photo albums but in this case, I'd stick clothes. Sorry to be a party pooper, but that's my opinion! ;)

She is gonna ask "Why did you do that"? regardless of her age! :)

I say put the bloomers on her or a lil' tutu like another poster said...that would be way cute!

I don't have a problem with diaper pics. I think it's just fine to take pictures of them however you want. It only bothers me to see pictures like that once they get to school age.

I don't like diaper pics on newborns so personally I wouldn't do it at over a year old.

I think its fine because they still have the baby look. IF THEY ARE LOOKking more like toddlers/little kids then ibsay no. My daughter still looked like a baby im pretty sure at that age and was wearing the same size clothes. As your daughter.
