I am a first time mom so I am wondering if this is normal. My 19 month old son seems normal is every way but sometimes I notice him walking around silly like crouching down with bended knees and walking or stomping or tip toe walking. It is not often and it seems like its usually when he is bored or looking for something to do. He is normal physically and runs and climbs so I don't think its a muscular issue. He also is quite verbal but doesn't say the word no. Is this just experimenting with walking...trying to entertain himself?

My daughter tip toe walked til she was about 2 1/2....I think it is just a phase they go through...like something they are experimenting with....everyone knew my daughter as the tip toe walker and used to think it was sooo cute....I was like you and worried about it...but I can tell you from experience that it is nothing to worry about!!

Perfectly normal at this age and very cute ... BUT if it continues as a dominant habit past the age of three, it's worth mentioning to your pediatrician. By "dominant habit", I mean your child walks that way over 50% of the time. Almost all kids walk on their toes SOME of the time - it's fun! Don't be worried, he sounds like he's perfectly fine!
totally normal! He's just realizing that he can control his movements and is seeing what he can do!
