I am having a problem finding a good selection of toddler, size 6, shoes....now I am frustrated! Maybe I am not looking in the right stores or at the right times. I have been to FredMeyers, KMart, Payless....I do not want to spend $30 for per pair. It seems to be more for my daughter than my son...he is ok with sneakers...but there is not selection for girls out there. I see other kids with such cute shoes...where they come from? How do I get them? I have thought about going to Ebay...but didn't know about what type of quality I would end up with. Any suggestions would be helpful. Thanks.

What can I do next?

I think it is really hard to find kids shoes that are less than 30.00 these days. It kills me to pay that much.
I would say check ebay, craigslist, consignment stores, the goodwill and clearance racks. That is where I get most of my daughters shoes. And if I find a good deal, then I buy even bigger sizes and put them away. I recently got 3 pairs of shoes at target for 12.00. I was so excited. it just takes time and searching, but you will find them. Oh, payless also has good prices and if you go during the BOGO event, you get a second pair for half price.

I'm a big fan of Stride Rite, but you have to find an Outlet store for it to be a reasonable price. Definitely check out Craigslist.org and search for the brand names, you'll be surprised! I'd also check out stores like Ross or The Rack for last seasons designer brands.

good shoes are so important! I'd look for sales or on eBay/craigslist for stride rite, see kai run, or robeez tredz. Sometimes target has some good shoes that size but I'd generally avoid payless and kmart. Good luck!

Definitely Target! They do have some that are, in my opinion, way better than others though, so you have to pay attention to what you are getting--and if you have picky kids like my 2 year old daughter, have them walk around in them for a few minutes so you don't pick a pair of cute but uncomfortable ones that they will only wear for 5 minutes :(...speaking from experience. I have gotten a few pairs of Circo (Target) brand that were super cute, but not at all wearable by my daughter's comfort standards, and some that ended up being her favorite shoes (and made of real leather too) for around $10-12 on average--they always go on sale, and of course clearance is even better but you have to be a little lucky. My favorite brand from there is Genuine Kids by Oshkosh...we have had great experiences in terms of comfort, quality, price and cuteness :)! I just scored a pair of leather/suede brown mary jane style ones for $3.74!!
