To Fight the Nap Urge or Not?

Hi Ladies,
I am 7 months along with baby #3, I work when I need to as a Realtor (everyday just not all day), and both of my other children are in school until 3 o'clock. Sometimes, around lunch when my day tends to slow a little I come home and snooze for about an hour. I am beginning to feel so guilty about this. Sometimes I fight the want to nap, but then I crash around 4:30 right in the middle of homework time, and getting dinner started. Do you think it is okay, should I even feel guilty about it?

What can I do next?

So What Happened?

This was so fun to read! I don't know why I feel guilty, maybe because my Husband works so hard and I'm sure he would like to come home and nap too but he can't.
I got over myself and I've given into the idea happily! Thank you mamas :-)

Don't feel guilty. When I was carrying my oldest one of my co workers would let me lay down on her floor and take a nap. If you are tried don't fight it. That way you have more to give your others when you get home.

Good luck and God Bless!

Your body is telling you it needs rest. You are growing a human being inside your body. Of course it is natural it will need more sleep. No guilt, you are helping your 3rd child.

You NEED that nap!! It helps you help the baby! It's best for baby that you take care of you! TAKE THAT NAP GUILT FREE! I said so! LOL I know how you feel. I always have to justify a nap because I always feel guilty. One time I heard a doctor friend say that he always tells his patients that they MUST lay down and put their feet up for an hour every day that they are on their cycle or pregnant. Doctor's orders, right?

Definitely nap and definitely do not feel guilty about it. Your body needs more rest when you're pregnant. Pregnancy puts stress on you body. I'm a strong believer in listening to your body. It will tell you when it needs to nap as you've discovered.

If you can get a daily nap, then consider yourself lucky girl! Get them while you can. No reason to feel guilty at all, you work hard so you need extra rest. Go for it!

Take the nap without the guilt!! I don't understand why you feel guilty for taking a nap when you are growing a baby and taking care of 2 kids and the house and working part time. Why the guilt? A little snooze midday is so good for your health and mood and energy.

Take the snooze and let go of the guilt and realize it is helping you be a better mom/wife and more available to your kids and hubby later in the day. Productivity does not mean doing something with tangible results at all times during the day. Take the nap and realize that you will be more productive come 4 pm.

Is there someone making you feel guilty for taking the nap?? I just don't understand the guilt.

Good luck and best wishes!!

I slept through most of my pregnancy. I'd fall asleep at work at my desk and the boys would build little structures over my keyboard or tape funny "error messages" to my computer screen. I couldn't help it. It was like I became narcoleptic. I guess it took more energy than I had to bake that kid.

Are you kidding me ... enjoy those naps and take one EVERY chance possible! You will feel better, look younger and be so much happier. Can you tell I'm a napper too and THANKGOODNESS our children are also. Even after school we will sometimes nap for 30-45 minutes before starting homework. Our evenings are then calm and happy and for us, it doesn't interfere with bed times at all since the kids are older and wouldn't be in bed before 9 anyway. We LOOOOVE to sleep and from what I've heard from some friends, our evenings are a lot smoother when we feel good. I am a MUCH happier person when a nap is on the to-do list and it happens!! Enjoy!!

Good Heavens!
Why the guilt? You are a busy lady with a baby on the way! If your body & new baby say, 'rest' then for goodness sake rest! Be glad that you have that time of quiet to do so!;)

Congrats, BTW!
