Hi everyone. I bought a living social for a chiropractic exam, x-rays and massage package. Am I expected to tip the massage therapist? I was thinking no because it's a medical facility, but a friend in another state, who bought a similar deal said they "required" that she "take care of" a 20% tip before the massage. And, if you said yes, let's say I like this place and decide to use them as my regular chiropractor and massage therapist, do I tip her every time?

I tip the massage therapist 20% when I get a massage at the chiropractor. The front desk will tell you the value of the massage so you can calculate the tip.
If the massage therapist is providing a service to you and the office happens to be rented out of the chiropractors office... YES, tip.
I can see where someone would not tip ONLY if the massage therapist is being paid by your medical insurance company as a part of PT, etc.
I have a friend who has her facial services set up in a chiropractor's office and YES she gets tipped for her service.
Personally I would tip because I always tip for any service (20%). Your friend's experience probably came about because the massage therapist was not getting tipped so it was the reception's way of making sure he/she is tipped and not step on toes of those who didn't know to tip or not.
If you are not "supposed" to tip, they will let you know. You can always ask and be on the safe side. Oh.. and tip for the full value, not the discounted value.

I’ve tipped at least 20% when I’ve gone to the chiro. She’ll let you know if she cannot accept tips. I would definitely try though.

If the massage is part of the chiropractic treatment, then I say no tipping required. But if the massage therapist is simply someone who rents space in the same place as the chiropractor, for the customers' convenience, then I say you tip.
The massage therapist that works out of my Chiropractor's office accepts tips.
I go by this rule of thumb:
If they are providing a service to me - whether it be food, nails (mani/pedi), massage - they get a tip.

Masseuse once told me that they aren't suppose to accept tips when they operate out of a "doctor's office" this includes a Chiropractor.. for whose office I was in at the time of getting a massage..
One does not tip a massage therapist in a medical office. But you can ask the receptionist what is common in their office.
