Hello moms! I was wondering if any of you had any experience with the new ATT&T bundle pkg (phone, internet, cable)? My family currently has Time Warner and I absolutely HATE them.I know, hate is a strong word, but they really suck. The 3 boxes (one is a DVR and 2 are HD) mess up our TV so bad sometimes I can't stand to watch it. And, since I cannot watch The Office and Grey's A anymore I'm pretty much done with them. My question is: Is ATT&T worth the switch? It sounds like a good deal, but I guess I'm concered about the internet and TV part of it. My husband and I have them for our cell phone plan but I'm concered about the other 2 options. Does anyone use this service? Also, we had DirectTV when we lived in Denver, CO and LOVED it, but I know it's a bit more expensive than TW & ATT&T. Just thought I would get some feedback on the latter to help our decision!

Thanks & have a wonderful HUMP DAY!!!

So What Happened?

Thank you so much for all the responses!!! I am grateful for all the advice and input! At this point I've got some research to do but I'll keep in mind what everyone has told me. For the most part we are happy with the internet & phone. It's just the TV situation that irriates us both. Hopefully we'll find a solution and all will be well!

Me and my husband just switched about 2 months ago to AT&T from time warner and we have not had any problems. The price is about the same but I like the AT&T better. We get more channels than we did with time warner. Hope this helps.

Ive had dish network in the past and they suck the prices increase steadily and sign these ridiclous contracts which tells u prices can change for any reason and weather conditions affect it mostlt. I would recommend to stay with time warner cable I had it for 2yrs and it has been great no contracts and cancellation fees. And dont charge for someone to come out to fix anything. Also free hd, free start over feature and wide ondemad choices. And it prices is ur main issue dont go with uverse they are high and they about to increase the rates escpecially with the boxes from $12 to 24 and they are new they have to many glitches of as right now. And with uverse available time warner will get better theres no monoply no more it work with comcast prices came down customer service went up. And as Im concern theres is no competition and the cable rates are still good and with great customer service. And already twc customers can extend there promotions for another year or get put in one throught the retention department and thats what they doing for me.

my hubby has been 'talking' with time warner about the channel 4 being off. they are completely blaming ch. 4 but it is their fault too, they can afford to pay them to stay on. anyway- we are wanting to switch as well. I heard a commercial for AT&T about their DVR, you can record up to 4 shows & have the ability to watch your recorded shows on any tv in the house... sounds good to me. too many time with TWC we are recording two things & my husband wants to watch something else & can't. Anyway- I can't help you much except that I agree TWC is not so good, we dislike them as well.
BTW, Grey's anatomy comes on ch 3,so you can still watch it... but we are missing the office!! good luck!

We switched to ATT&T for our internet and cable when we exited apartment living and bought a house. I definitely recommend AT&T for the savings alone! I think our bill is almost half of what it used to be with Time Warner even with your "free basic cable" that the apartment complex offered.

One thing that is different with ATT&T is that you can only watch 3 high definition channels in our household at the same time..this includes any that you may be DVRing. However, this really has not been a problem. What I love is that you can access your DVR from any of your boxes so if you kids or hubby are monopolizing the DVR TV you can go elsewhere and catchup on your Grey's anatomy.

I think it is worth it for the savings alone and is worth checking out. Good luck!

We have TW for internet and phone but DTV for our tv's. I cannot stand DTV b/c they nickle and dime you to death but have to have them b/c they are the only provider who offer the NFL package. My hubby is from San Diego so we have to get SD games for football and baseball. We have almost every channel for 5 HD boxes, 3 of which are DVR, and pay $150 a month. TW is ok. We had a few problems with them at first but they were worked out quickly. Hope this helps.

Personally, I never hard problems with Roadrunner. I work from home and am online literally 8-10 hours 5 days a week. Internet, phone and cable are ALWAYS consistent. I made the switch to AT&T a few month ago because they told me about their new fiberoptic lines in my nieghborhoos and the overall price was less as a bundle. It was the biggest pain ever. First, within the fist three weeks my cable and internet went down at least two times a week for large periods of time. There were points that I had to go to Starbucks to get internet and conduct my work meetings and webinars. I had a three service visits in three weeks, the changes gateway boxes, changed connections to the house and on the last visit dug a tranch through my back yard for new cables!!! Not so cool when you have kids playing in the backyard. Not to mention, 2 bills... How can this be a bundle when I get two invoices to deal with!! AND on top of that the phone customer service sucks... to you like talking to a robot? I don't it is nearly impossible to get a live person on the line and the robot can hard distinguish which account your calling about (remember two accounts) so often I would wait 15 minutes on hold to be talking to the WRONG customer service and have to start all over. At least with Roadrunner when you call, you get to speak with some one. This experience brought me back to RR with love and appreciation. In ten yrs with RR we only experienced 2 maybe 3 outages and service ALWAYS deleivered what they promised. I was absolutely horrified with the experience with AT&T. I have no experience with Direct. Good Luck!

Grey's Anatomy is on KVUE/ch 3. You can still watch it with TWC...it's not on KXAN.

we have AT&T. i really like it. the internet is great. tv is great. i like the options they provide (when i'm out of town visiting my mother, i can go online to my account and tell my dvr to record a show back home.) some of the bad stuff is: i don't like the digital phone. it's like using a cell phone and i hate cell phones. the phone still has a couple of glitches with caller id that at&t is still working out. when we first got at&t u-verse there were many "glitches". so, if something was wrong with the internet, everything would shut down and we'd have no phone, internet or cable. that was really irritating. but i contacted at&t about it and they easily gave me $20.00 off my bill for the next 6 months :) ! those glitches aren't happening anymore though. we were one of their first customers, so i guess we kind of expected some of that. here's the best part: we pay about 138.00 a month. our phone has all the options including free long distance, we have the second to fastest internet speed and about 400 channels on our tv (and not too many repeats). if i record a show on my dvr, i can go back to my bedroom and watch it on a different tv. nice ! it's been really good to us.

If you are talking about ATT u-verse it is definitely worth the switch. We just moved from Houston to Austin. We had U-verse in Houston and we loved it! You get so much more for your money compared with Time Warner. When we moved here we were basically stuck with Time Warner because U-verse is not offered in our neighborhood and our house was wired for cable so DirectTV was going to be too complicated. WE HATE IT! Especially now that we don't get NBC. I am paying so much more for Time Warner than we did for U-verse and I feel like we get nothing for it. We are hoping u-verse will be offered in our neighborhood soon. So, if I were you, I would switch!

I have dish and its been good b/c the small package does not have MTV or movie channels. Just Nick. I miss some of my favorites such as TCM and HGTV etc... Also, they do go out on rainy days. A good solution to the KXAN thing is to just get the HD rabbit ears if you have an HD tv. They give a GREAT clear signal and you can get local channels fine. Hope that helps. I'm not into packages b/c of how stuck they make me feel.
