Hello mamas, I am wanting some feedback from moms on your experience with Time Warner Cable, good and bad. We are considering switching to them and getting the bundle package (phone, internet, and TV) and I wanted to know how others liked it (or not). TIA for your responses!

What can I do next?

I was really happy with them but switched back to AT&T this week. My problem was with the phone service. We have an alarm and the phone would go out once a month at 12:30 am and set it off. With a newborn and 7 year old, we couldn't keep having this happen. Unfortunately, the customer service rep couldn't tell us why it was happening. I would have accepted that once a month we couldn't set the alarm because they were running update, but she couldn't give any solution and didn't know why it was happening. So if you have an alarm, I wouldn't get phone service.

My area uses a different company, but my next door neighbor and good friend works for them. He says they really are a good company. Trust me, if they weren't, he would definately say so. : )

LOVE time warner cable, all their other services suck. They have on demand, so can't find a show for little child, just click and there it is. We did have their internet service for awhile, but did not work well with hubby's work computer and it kept on going out.

My daughter had it in an apartment in Richardson and the internet was horrible and it took 3 or 4 calls to ever get a technician to come out and fix it. The techs would also not keep their appointment and of course someone has to be home all day long because they can't give you a time they will be out. She never really had any problem with the cable part. I hope this helps.

I have Time Warner Cable Basic Extended Cable and have no complaints. However, my mother made the switch last August and she now have the whole package (phone, internet and TV). Well let me tell you her home phone is constantly out of service. She has never had any problem with AT&T. Not sure if maybe its her area or not. She lives in Dallas.

Remember, you can always switch back. Just make sure you have a cell phone in the house.

I personally have had only bad experiences with them. When the cable goes out it is DAYS before they can come out. Once they called to say they were on the way and my husband said alright- I'll be there in 10 minutes. They LEFT before my husband made it (and he was there in the 10 minutes as promised) with a note saying no one was home here. The work that had to be done was ALL outside anyhow.

Everytime something goes wrong my husband has to leave work and get here BEFORE they come and you never know for sure what day they will come because they sometimes show up on different days than they appoint.

I can't wait till they turn on AT&T's U verse here- my family has it and has had great experiences with them.

We've never used TWC because of the many horror storied we've heard. We currently have AT&T U-verse (fiberoptic) and we LOVE it. We have had no problems since the initial install--the install took a lot of work for them and there were some problems, but the guys were adamant about not leaving until it was perfect. The customer service has been beyond excellent (we had some network and firewall questions). The system never goes out with the wind and the rain--only when the power goes out. Good luck to you!

For cable TV, Time Warner works fine in my neighborhood. However, I did have to get them to come out several times as my neighborhood expanded. They needed to adjust the number of lines going to one box outside. I had similar difficulties with their high speed internet, but it did get corrected. However, I just switched to ATT DSL service for my internet, because it was a lot cheaper, and my phone is ATT anyway.

I would NEVER get the Cable phone service. I have only heard horrible problems with this service. I did check into it once and asked the sales rep what happens when the power goes out (which happens in every storm at my house). I wanted to know how my alarm system would work for my house and how I would use the phone in that instance. She said that the system would have a battery back-up for 24-72 hours on the phone system. But, I wasn't comfortable with the possibility that I would not have access to emergency phone or my home alarm system, in the event of a power failure. My suggestion to you is keep your normal phone service. It works, even if the power goes out (as long as you have a corded telephone to plug in for emergencies -- cordless phones don't work without electricity either). Plus it is more reliable than a phone system that cuts in and out everytime the system has a glitch or the weather is bad.

Good luck!

We have had the bundle package for about 6 months and have nothing to complain about. It is consistently 119 dollars a month and we never have problem with the service. We had FIOS before this and we hated it, so TWC is who we will be with for a very long time.

Ive had TWC for the past eight years and have had a very good experience with them. A year ago when we upgraded to HDTV, we had to get a new box from them, and that was no problem. What did happen though, it 'unbundled' our package and we had a really high bill for a few months. I finally called to find out if the new box was really that much more expensive. The customer service agent was very cooperative. He looked at our past invoices, realized what had happened. He went back those months, credited our account for the difference. To me, that is incredible customer service, and I will whole-heartedly recommend them to anyone! I also have their Roadrunner service for my internet and experience NO problems whatsoever.

I think TWC's TV programming is not very good. We've used them for phones in the past (it was OK) and we're currently using them for internet, which is very good.

We too have the bundle service with Time Warner. We are happy with the service but they do have very bad customer service if you need anything. Calling them on the phone is a joke if you need any kind of help. I would suggest going in person, it always helps. Also can't say that the installers are very experienced and know what going on (we had several come out to our home). I have noticed a small increase in willingness to help me out since Verizon Vios (which is much worse!) came into our area if I need any info or help ")

If Verizon FIOS is avaliable in your area I would highly recommend it. We had DSL before and this is so much better.
Lots of HD TV as well as super fast internet.
Their customer service is easy to talk to and very helpful.

If you want a NIGHTMARE for customer service try DIRECT TV.
Direct TV extended our ontract(without telling us) because one of their boxes quit working and we placed a call to them. The day our contract finally was over we were out of there.
Good luck making your choice.

We've had the bundle (phone, internet, cable) for over a year and haven't had too many issues. We recently had to have someone come out because many of the channels either weren't showing up at all or were fuzzy; they fixed it right away with no hassle. We've also had to have our modem fixed. I've noticed recently that it goes out for no apparent reason, but it could just be that our daughters have no regard for treating it kindly. :) What I really don't like about that is if it goes out and I don't notice, the phone isn't working until I restart it.

The customer service has been outstanding. Anytime I have needed to call the reps have been awesome and the guys who've come out to install/fix have also been super friendly.

Our bill is usually around $120/month.

We've got the bundle package, (digital phone, tv & internet for $99/month), & I'm ready to go to direct tv or something. The digital phone is terrible, it sounds like the person on the other end is miles away & you sound really loud to yourself. And the cable is terrible. We had to have 3 techs come out on 3 different occasions bc they couldn't get the chanels to come in. We couldn't see any of the locals & the other chanels were fuzzy. And as far as the movie chanels go, you might as well just go to blockbuster bc they just show the same movies all month long. We actually just ended up unplugging the digital cable & just have the regular standard cable, (about 100 chanels). So, that's my 2 cents, hope it helps!!!!!

We've used TWC since it was Comcast and we've never had any problem that they didn't resolve quickly and efficiently. We used them at our apartment and then in our home when we moved. We have cable and internet and we get our phone through a different VoIP. My MIL switched from TWC to Fios and had nothing but hassle and run around with Verizon when she has problems with it. After we saw the problems she had, we decided not to switch to Fios. We're very pleased with TWC.

We have TWC and have had lots of issues. Last summer our internet only worked maybe a couple days a week. We've had to switch cable boxes and DVR's a couple of times. If there's a storm within 50 miles it seems like our cable goes out. Their customer service is pretty bad as well. We're hoping to move soon or we would have switched already!

Don't have much experience with TWC, but we use verizon fios and love it, we have the bundle package with fios, and our bill is always the same. we have great reception, uninterrupted calls, unlimited long distance, customer service has always been very helpful. We have been with Verizon for almost a year now, and wouldn't change it for a thing....Just a little FYI i guess....Good luck in making your decisions....

i use them for our internet and tv and love it - i have had the cable internet for many years - comcast got bought out by time warner a couple years ago - i never have any problems with it - had one problem with they switched over e-mail and mine didn't work out right and they fixed it immediately on the phone - also love their digital tv service - we had switched to satalitte dish for a brief time and hated it - it went out everytime there was a storm - anyway we switched back to time warner as soon as our contract was up - i also have vonage phone service which is like the time warner phone service that goes through the cable internet - time warner didn't have the phone service in my area last year but i am going to check again to see if they do and switch and get the bundle package - the internet is a little pricey compared to what most people are used to paying BUT WELL WORTH IT - it is SO FAST - it is so worth the money to save me time sitting at the computer waiting for websites to load!!! i say go for it!!!! and check to see if they have special pricing - usually run some sort of discount for the for 3 months to a year for signing up with them!!

I had TWC when I lived in a townhouse in Carrollton, and fortunately moved to an area where we had to get a dish - which turned out to be cheaper and I like it a lot better. I had the digital cable and RoadRunner internet. I had to take off work 4 to 5 times in the year that I had it so they could come out and try and fix problems. My cable would go out. My internet would go out. One time I had to wait an entire week for them to come out - an entire week with no cable. My 16 year old son wasn't very happy. Also, when you call customer service, be prepared to sit on the phone to wait to talk to a human. Every time I called, it was a 20 - 30 minute adventure. The people that I dealt with were actually pretty nice, but that really didn't help much when I had constant problems.

LOL, well we started out with TWC and had some issues so we switched to Verizon FIOS. However, Verizon was HORRIBLE. Their DVR was always messing up (even after switching it out twice), and customer service was the worst I have ever experienced. I never in a million years thought I would go back to Time Warner, but I did! TWC is fine. I have the bundle you mentioned. Phone works perfectly. The internet is fast, but does slow down for maybe an hour or two here and there. Still works - just gets a little annoying since I do a lot on-line. Cable is ok. Channel selection is average. We don't get Sprout with the basic package which frustrates me because my son loves that channel. The DVR works much better than FIOS.
