we always do a fruit tray, veggie tray, deli tray and then a few kind sof rolls and condiments and a pasta salad. very easy and stuff you can always use leftover for lunch. Don't go crazy. There is always so much leftover when you try to do too much. And don't forget chips and pretzels.

I will be doing picnic type foods for my son's 3rd birthday in a few weeks. I will be making macaroni and potato salad, hot dogs, pulled pork sandwiches, baked beans. This is what I did last year and it went over well.

i've seen alot of mom's do little mini sandwiches without the crust. like pb&j, or ham and cheese...you could just use regular size bread and cut them with fun shaped cookie cutters. also, my kids love fruit. strawberry slices, melons, especially watermelon, are a big hit. another idea i've seen is to take capri sun juices and write their names on them in black marker so noone gets confused. as for the adults, maybe some cut up hoagie trays, a veggie platter, and just a simple punch with sherbert and sprite. i hope that helps! good luck and enjoy the party!

I went all out with roast beef and meatballs for my daughter's first birthday. Her second birthday was much smaller. Maybe a dozen people. So, I just had cake and ice cream. And when I say ice cream, I bought dixie cups. I don't even think I bought chips and pretzels. It was just immediate family and a couple close friends. The party was at 3:00 so it was between meal times. No one seemed to mind that there was no "food" there. It was a very simple party, though.

Hi R. - I wouldn't stress. We did a pizza party last year. We got a sicilian pie for the kids and asked them to cut them into kid size pieces. We had the regular pies for the adults (cheese, pepperoni, sausage, etc). We also had the chips and dips, vegetable platter, fruit platter. We had cupcakes for the kids and of course the birthday cake for who ever wanted it.

Good luck,
S.

I did a few fun, and easy things for my daughter's 3 yr old party last summer. We made it a barbeque...hot dogs, hamburgers, and fruit salad (served with wooden skewers). We didn't need silverware...low maintenance! We made fun shaped jello jigglers with cookie cutters so the kids could eat them with their hands.

For my daughter's two year old party, I had mac and cheese for the kids and sandwiches for the adults. Of course the adult ate the mac and cheese too. Then I just had a veggie dip tray and chips. It was very simple.

HI R.,
I have had parties just like this and I will tell you what I had it worked out great and hopefully it will help you. I had hoagies, wraps sandwhiches and other premade foods from shop rite and for the kids I had chicken nuggets and those smiley face potato fries for the kids. They just loved them soooo much. I also has juice boxes for them. I also did cupcakes instead of a cake and put them on a cupcake holder I decorated it for the theme that way there was no need for cake cutting. Good Luck R.
