Hello,

My soon to be 3 year old has just discovered Thomas the Train & is in love. We don't know anything about the toys accept for there's a lot of them!! Anyone have any suggestions for which ones are the best/worst. Also, we are $$$ tight and know this stuff is expensive, so if anyone is ready to sell their gently used train toys to a very excited boy, please let me know.
Thanks, S.

Hi. My daughter's love affair with Thomas started around age two and is still pretty strong. We haven't bought much stuff lately, but a really great outing is to go to the "Thomas" store in Oak Brook. We live in La Grange, so it's not too far for us. But if you wanted to take a little trip to the western suburbs, The Learning Curve Store specializes in Thomas. They have a GIANT train table. They also play Thomas videos in the store. On rainy days we just go there to "play". Occasionally, I will buy her a small item (Thomas book or single train), but really she just loves to play and doesn't really bother me about actually buying anything.

Also the DAY OUT WITH THOMAS in Union, IL (I think) is a nice car trip. It happens once per year every August. You can buy tickets online to ride Thomas. You can take pictures with Thomas characters and then just stroll through the railway museum which is a lot of fun for train lovers. Search for it on the internet.

Good luck--

R.

S.,
My son, 3 years old as well is absolutely in love with thomas the train as well. He lives and breathes thomas, he even talks thomas in his sleep. Thomas trains are expensive. Have you gone on the thomas website? They have coloring pages you can print out and other interactive thomas things to do. Unfortunately, I have no thomas trains I can give up. Let me know if you have any other questions.

I don't have any trains to offer:( However, I know Michaels(the arts and craft store) carries them and they often have 40% off coupons in the Sunday circular that you can use on the Thomas stuff!

I can relate to your situation!! My son also fell in love with Thomas when he turned 3! He is now 4 1/2 and still enjoys his trains, although now he is into dinosaurs, etc... as well!! We bought all of his Thomas trains, tracks, etc, from Target. They have the take-along Thomas. I liked the price (about $4.99 per train) and the accessories are reasonable too. We found a train table at Costco that was very reasonable as well. You may want to check out ebay for some deals too!!
GOOD LUCK!!!!
