Thinking About Blogging...

I'm thinking about starting a blog. Not to make money or anything, but just to vent about life and hold myself accountable on things I want to change. Are there any good sites that are easy to use? (I'm technically challenged lol) Also, what is blogging etiquette? Can you remain anonymous, use a different name or be truthful and use real names in your blog? Thanks in advance!

What can I do next?

I recently started blogging just because I'm in the process of publishing a book, and publishers want to see that there's an interest in what I'm saying. I've heard blogspot is very user friendly. I use wordpress, and I've heard it's a little harder. Also, you can absolutely remain anonymous. It's completely up to you. You can even set it up to where only those you invite can see it.

Good luck to you! Feel free to check mine out www.MistyGatlin.wordpress.com It's geared toward teens and young women. Have fun with it. :)

I love reading blogs! Do it! anonymous or not, I think its a great idea! Most I read are on blogspot, but I just follow the links people send me or that I see on their FB.

I use blogspot, here's my blog: http://ceelees.blogspot.com/

You can set it totally private and invite people to your blog or make it public. When blogging if you are uncomfortable giving out too much information you can use nicknames or initials for names. This site is really easy to use and you can change up backgrounds very easily. I signed up for sitemeter for my blog so I can see who visits my blog, how long they stay and what pages they view. I use first initials for my kid's names. I don't think I've ever used my own name and I do use my husband's name. He has a very common name.

I was considering the same thing myself. I think it is a great idea. But I am concerned about being anonymous, part of me doesn't know if i really want all of my dirty laundry out there(so to speak) and how does that work when you are looking for a job, etc. It makes sense if writing is your profession, but what if your blog is just a hobby, you know what I mean, any thoughts??
I would recommend Blogspot or Wordpress. I have a friend that was very successful on starting a blog and was just doing as a hobby, but now she makes money at it (: All the best!!
