I have been noticing here lately that my legs have just been itching. Not everyday and not exactly all over just in small little areas. I thought well its just dry skin, or maybe a heat rash, maybe just that my skin has just become sensitive over the years. (all though I have never had sensitive skin) I will start off with an itch, the next thing I know have have bumps all around where my itch started. Its getting really iritating!! I was in bed last night and had just climbed into bed from a fresh shower. My leg (above the knee area) began to itch....and the next thing I knew I had bumps all around. I dont know what is going on. I thought it was maybe bedbugs (gross!), we have had our mattress about 5 years and thought about throwing it out, but my husband is just fine. Then I thought it was our soap, in which I have used the same body soap for years (ivory). So then I turned to our detergent (in which has never bothered me before), so I swithed and that didnt work. My legs still itch! And only my legs....no where else on my body. Any recommendations.....or what this itch could be?

What can I do next?

Have you started a new medication recently? This happened to me a few years ago. After starting a new medication I suddenly became sensitive to my favorite lotion and I developed eczema on my knees. The same thing happened to my sister. I switched to aveeno lotion with oatmeal and it cleared up. The equate brand at Walmart is cheaper and just as good.

It's possible it's scabies. See your doctor so he or she can look at the bumps to be sure. God bless!

If it happens after shaving your legs it could be your razor.

Go to your local pharmacy and ask the pharmacist to identify the bumps and recommend a cream/lotion for it. Good Luck!

I would say that it is probably eczema and different things can cause it to flare up. There are a few causes for eczema..1. Something is out of balance (ie hormones), 2. something is wrong with digestion, 3. Infection, 4. Exposure to toxins. If you want to know more you can email me.

Maybe you have developed a mild case of eczema?

It could be a sensitivity to your bath wash, your laundry detergent, or any number of other environmental irritates in your home and/or work place. Have you ever tried Renew body wash or lotion (great with a whole host of skin conditions) ? Mela Power detergent? or other toxin free household products. If you would be interested in hearing more about them, send me a message.
