I have a husband who buys himself everything he can possible want. Every year I struggle with what to get him. I need some original ideas. i saw that someone suggested a frame engraved for a desk, that was a great idea, I like that.. anything more like that would be great. He is into music - DVD's - PS3 - and all things Nike. I have gotten him Nike outfits every year and Im tired of that now. I want to give him something nice that he would appreciate. Any suggestions?
I also want to give my new mother-in-law a nice gift. Any suggestions would be apprecaited! Shes into yardwork- plants - cooking - loves wine.

What can I do next?

Digital photo frame for his desk would be a great idea! My man is like that too! He buys what he wants when he wants it for himself so it's very hard to buy gifts for him on xmas, bday and father's day.

snapfish.com
kodakgallery.com
photobucket.com

and other sites like those give you the option of uploading photographs and making things for them from calendars, books, mugs, shirts, canvas prints ... you name it!

If she enjoys wine what about taking her on a wine tour? Is there a winery near you? Look into getting a gift card for the tour or a few bottles of wine. It could be something you do with her or send her and some friends. Good luck! My mother in law is also hard to shop for.

Hi there...if you're into digital photos, you might want to check out www.snapfish.com
All you do is upload your own photos and then you can choose what you want. They have everything from neckties, to coffee mugs, calendars, photo books, bags, and LOTS more. One year for Father's Day I bought my husband a necktie that has pictures of our daughter on it! It's a great site, and if you have a digital camera I highly recommend it, especially if you're always looking for that unique gift!

Hi Y.,

Congrats on the new baby. I wish I could say I would do it all over again, you go girl! Anyway, as for you husband I would sign him up to those DVD's club so he can get what he wants at anytime. Also since he loves music, see if you can find a music studio and see if you get your husband sit in on a recording session. He would flip and appreciate how music is recorded professionally.

As for you mother in law, She loves wine and NC has great vinyards. Get her a get away for the weekend at a wine vineyard, She will simply love it and get to taste a variety of wines made. Happy Shopping and Happy Holidays.

Maybe for your mother in law, see if there was a special wine that she had at maybe an anniversary, or her wedding, something that she would be fond of and buy her a bottle. It would bring sentiment and be a nice gift you know she would enjoy. As for your husband, something more from the heart and not from the wallet would be best. Maybe make him a music cd of all his favorite songs, or go to a pottery store and make him something special.

It sounds like you have quite a challenge Christmas shopping this year. I would suggest giving your mother-in-law a magazine subscription. Southern Living is perfect for someone who enjoys gardening and cooking. Plus, it's a gift she can enjoy for the whole year.

Y. - you ARE one busy woman! I actually did this for my husband for our anniversary but a Christmas gift would work nicely too... I went to a professional studio and had some pictures taken of me for him. I had it done while we lived in NJ, so I'm not sure exactly where to go here - it was a place called Glamor Shots and they did your hair and makeup and you just supplied the clothes if you wanted (or they would) up to 3 changes. It was a private room and they pose you and all that stuff! He flipped over them - and I bought nice frames to go with, and he just changes out the picture in his office every so often.
As for your mother in law - I'm an avid gardener myself and any garden tool is awesome - a gift certificate from an online catalog place is great - just include a catalog to have something to look at - that makes it more exciting! Gardenersupply.com has some great ideas- if you don't mind internet shopping. Or you can find a wine of the month club on there too - they ship out a wine each month to taste - those are cool too. Some of the other garden internet sites also offer gifts that are monthly too - then it's like giving a gift all year long. I also know books are a great garden lovers gift too. Or subscription to a garden magazine - Fine Gardening or Horticulture are two great ones and you can order them on line! Hope that helps - good luck with the reception too!

Is your husband in to any sports? Have a favorite player or team??? My husband was SO appreciative a couple of years ago when I went on ebay and got him an autographed baseball card of his favorite player. Only cost me about $10, but he was very impressed with the unique gift.
