Has anyone gone to the new furniture store/warehouse - The Dump? What was it like? We are looking for some master bedroom furniture and don't want to pay a ton.

What can I do next?

My husband went there just to look. He said that everything is new and in great condition. There were only a few peices that he saw that were slightly damaged. HE said the prices were great too, we just didnt find anything there that was along the lines that we were looking for. So many people wont go on principal alone and i think they may be missing out on a great deal!

We furnished several rooms in our house from there and got some WONDERFUL pieces at great prices. I don't remember low quality furniture, but I'm guessing that, because they get overstocks, overruns, closeouts, that they do sometimes get low end stuff as well as high end. We went specifically looking for well made, sturdy construction, so that's what we got. It's a close-out type situation, so some things are hit/miss, and some things cycle through. It's kinda crowded, furniture wise, but reasonably well organized into sections by rooms (office, bedroom, chairs, dining, etc). Good luck!

We love The Dump. It's not junky furniture. Our friends had a dining table from there and it was really nice, which is what made us go out there. We bought our kitchen table there and LOVE it! It's good quality. We almost bought our sectional there too but they didn't have the color we were looking for. They sometimes have coupons online too. It's worth a shot to go and look.

I have never been and won't go.

You get what you pay for....... The Dump advertises that they get the retailers overruns "rejects".

I would simply buy the best I could afford now and then not be faced with having to replace it before you need to. Many stores are negotiating...find what you like and negotiate.

We bought my daughter's furniture set at Haverty's (1995)and it has held up very well. We got a bed from Weirs for her. She was walking through the store in Plano and saw this huge bedframe that was beautiful. It was $2000 and because it was so big...it would not fit in a lot of bedrooms. It was perfect for hers though. We paid $400 for it. (this was about 4 yrs ago)

We have bought a lot at Weirs but we have also noticed that some pieces they have now lack the original quality that we have experienced in the past.

Of all places, I found the perfect item I was looking for at Neimans before Christmas. There were sales all around but not my item. I just asked for the sale price and got it plus 30% off. Can't hurt to shop at great places and see how you can do!

Happy New Year!

I didn't find anything there. I found that they were overpriced and the furniture wasn't all that spectacular. I am really picky though and like higher end furniture since I buy for several years in mind. Anyway it could have just been the time I went though since they cycle their inventory according to the closeouts they are buying. You can also try Haverty's Outlet that is a little farther down 635 at Royal if you want to look there too. Have you tried Weir's Furniture? They have several locations around the Metroplex but they aren't open on Sundays. Good luck.

Hello!
It is very large! I did not like it so much. I thought that the prices were high. However, it might be good to go look for yourself once.
Hope you find what you need! I like Craigslist personally. I got fantastic furniture and prices!
Blessings!
Sincerely,
C. N.

I dont know if you have already made it out to The Dump or not but I have been there. I ended up getting my bedroom furniture there. I would not say they are "cheap" because I would not say most of there stuff is "cheap". We ended up spending about 3,500 for a hug very solid king bed, king size temperpetic mattress, matching armor also two night stands. They are are very heavy wood and solid. I looked at Havertys and a couple of other stores and for a bedroom suite it would cost 5,500 plus. I felt like we got a good value.

I wasn't too impressed. The quality is fairly low.
