My son and daughter enjoyed their bottle till 2 1/2 years old. Then we made a a big thing about be a "Big Boy or Girl" and drinking from a sipper cup, it worked just fine. I like the bottle fairy too. Good luck!! Just remember its the first step of many to come and we all made it so far!!! :):):):)

My daughter was also two when she still loved her bottle, so I told her the "bottle fairy" came and took her bottle (i got that from Supernanny--but she used it w/a pacifier) and that she is now a big girl and doesn't need it anymore--only a cup. Oh the crazy things we do for our kids!! Good Luck!

My son (now 15) enjoyed his ba ba till he was well in to 2- pushin 3! He enjoyed, as i recall
When I was finally ready to have him move on- I had him help me put all the bottles in a bag and after talking about it- he agreed to leave the bottles out on the front porch- for a Mommy to pick up for her baby- He agreed that he wasn't a baby and didn't need them. When he slept, I went and got the bag ect....He was fine from then on!

I took my kids bottles away when they turned one. I would give them a sippy cup a few times a day for about a month before they turned one and then at one they completely got rid of their bottles except for their nightime/before bed bottle. I kept that a few months and then I would take that away also, I never had any problems with it. Try to go get the Advent sippy cups. I have seen them at target, so try those and see if she might like those.

Patty,

Have her throw the bottle in the trash and give her a sippy-cup afterwards. Let her pick out the sippy-cup when you go shopping for one, or two. Let her know it is "gone-gone" and be patient. Put all the other bottles out of sight before she throws the one bottle in the trash. Or you can try giving her the sippy-cup before she throws the bottle away.

Avent sells sippy-cup attachments that fit all their bottles. They can be purchased at BabiesRUs as well as other stores. I am sure they can be purchased online as well. They also offer handles that fit on the bottles to make them look like a sippy cup. They have a few different sippy-cup attachments, they are listed by age and are different colors. I hope this helps!

I did the trash thing like Karen did with both my boys and it worked. They were both 18 mos. at that time.

I had trouble weaning my oldest daughter off the bottle...she was still carrying it around at 2 yrs old! I simply packed them all up in a paper bag (this was 24 yrs ago) after she went to bed one night. I hid them in the attic and when she woke up the next morning I went to the cabinet and acted like someone had stolen all her bottles. I told her she would just have to drink out of a cup while we tried to find out who stole her bottles.... I dont know how, but it worked. She didnt take a bottle after that.
