Looking at potential relocation cities and know absolutely nothing about Colleyville. Can you share what you like about your city? How about what you don't like? Which are the areas we should be aware of whether positive or negative. TIA!

What can I do next?

She speaks the truth. Colleyville is a highly desireable location with easy access to everything. Please heed her warning on property taxes and look up what they are on the internet if you are considering buying a home. I would throw in that Colleyville has been home to some wealthy families for many years as compared to Southlake, not that it matters. It is sure fun to zip up the road to Grapevine and Southlake. There is world class shopping all around and and now an IMAX and gourmet grocery or two. I live very close, but not in Colleyville, but I have to tell you that we are ALWAYS looking for just the right house and Colleyville is the main contender.
I'd guess it's one of the best places to live near an urban environment anywhere in Texas.

I've lived in Colleyville for 5.5 years, and I really like it. The schools are stellar - quite a few people in my neighborhood have pulled kids out of private schools and put them in public schools, and say they're significantly happier with the public schools - they like the education, the teachers, everything. Colleyville is very convenient, because we've got great shopping and restaurants very close. Southlake Town Square has great shopping, and there are a ton of restaurants in Grapevine, Colleyville and Southlake, plus many great grocery stores. I just find it to be a very easy place to live - we really don't need to go into Dallas or Ft. Worth for anything if we don't feel like it.

There really aren't any "bad" areas of Colleyville. Truly. There are some rougher areas of Grapevine, but homes in Colleyville are largely very nice. With that niceness comes some expense - housing isn't all that cheap, but it's still less expensive than in many areas of the country. Our property taxes are terrible, but they're lower than Grapevine, Southlake, and several other cities in the metroplex.

There are some great parks around here, and it's 30 minutes to Dallas or Ft. Worth, so it's centrally located. Granted, a commute into downtown Dallas during rush hour could take some time, but by and large, it's just a very convenient place to be. We have friends that just moved to Grapevine from Frisco, and they wish they'd moved sooner!
