Teething and Gas Pains?

My 6 month old is cutting two lower front teeth and suddenly her gas is back at the same time? Could this be because of the way the teeth affect her drinking? Maybe she's taking in more air or something.

What can I do next?

Absolutely!

Stock up on the infant gas drops and teething supplies. Also, as Susan said my son got gasier every time he started a new food. It keeps going and going!!

Good Luck.

also, when teething, their saliva secretion increases and they swallow it more.... this may contribute to it. Or it may just be a coincidence... especially if she is starting "solids" now.. .or if you are eating something that is creating gas in her... ie: through your breastmilk if applicable.

Give her infant gas drops... this may help. Ask your Pediatrician. But it helped my kids.

I have found the best way (and all natural too) to help lil ones get rid of gas is this. Sit down in a good sturdy chair and put baby face down (tummy on your knees) on your lap. then do the knee bounce thing, but small quick bounces, and at the same time pat them on their back just above the butt. do this for about 5-10 min. then turn them over on their back and keep bouncing but this time pat/rub their tummy. this helps them toot. about 5-10min on each side and keep rotating. Every baby I have done this for starts tooting right away and they are much much happier. plus it is a great work out for your legs! I have had this work on colicie babies too. Good luck!

My son had gas when he was teething too. I think it is because they are sticking all sorts of things in their mouth and getting more air. Plus tetthing is h*** o* their little bodies. A friend of mine who has 2 grown kids and is a preschool teacher told me that once you get used to something with your child everything changes. My son is 16 months old and she was SOOOO right! I would just give her the gas drops and make sure she is comfortable. If she is eating solids make sure that you give her food that doesn't contribute to the gas issue. :)
