Baking Soda in the shoes, and deodorant on the feet. I would buy separate deodorant for his feet than he uses elsewhere.

Dr. Oz says they should soak their feet in Black tea for 15 to 20 minutes. a couple of times a week..

Also try to make sure they wear more that one pair of shoes. This will allow their shoes to dry out between each wearing..

And make sure they really wash their feet (between the toes) and that they are totally dry when they wear shoes and socks..

You can dust them with baking soda.

www.armandhammer.com

"Simply shake a little ARM & HAMMER® Baking Soda into them between wearings. It works by absorbing odor causing moisture while neutralizing existing odors. Use at least once a week or more if you wear the shoes frequently. Tap out excess baking soda before wearing your sneakers again."

Hi S.:
I would just put baking soda in his shoes' that should take the smell away. Another suggestion that I read in an article was to put a dryer sheet in their shoes. I know that baking soda does the trick, I've used it in my husbands' work boots many times!! Smelly feet gone. I would say put it in at least every 3rd day but you can figure out how long it is lasting.
Good luck, I'm sure your son will appreciate it as well.

I put odor eaters in my shoes and my husbands, that seems to help.

Go barefoot whenever possible, or wear sandals. If your child has to have sneakers for sports or certain activities, weather, etc., take shoes and socks off as soon as possible. My feet always smell when I have to wear shoes a lot. :(

Go to website: http://www.vinegartips.com

Then click on Health (on the yellowish bar).

Foot Oder is the 4th thing on down on that tab. I'd tell you what it says, but you should go there yourself. It is a great site and best of all, the solution is dirt cheap and 100% natural.

soaking feet in cheap (dollar store) mouthwash works!! I was a figure sk\ater and had really stinky feet for many years (from being all sweaty inside my skates) and a 5 min soak in mouthwash does the trick!!! You can even warm it in the microwave a little bit first so its not as cold!! Hope this helps!

My son had that and it didn't stop when he got out of high school. His father had that too and they both had deep callouses. I should have taken him to a dermatologist or foot doctor!

I've read since then that it could be caused by a fungus which can be caused from wearing the same shoes (tennis shoes) that holdin moisture and don't have time to dry out. Anyway, I think there is a gentic component to it too.

Call a good foot doctor or dermatologist and ask them if they will have some potential diagnosis, cures or treatment for it. Don't just settle for absorbing the smell. He may get razed or lose girlfriends over it and they don't need to lose self esteem over something they might be able to fix. Even if it is something to do with a fungus spray, foot care, and more pairs of shoes and socks.
