Tball Party

So I am the team mom for my son's tball team. This is our first foray into team sports, so I am a little clueless. The coach is wonderful and guiding me along, so I am muddling through. Lol. I have a question about the team party. Are these generally held on the same day of the last game, or the weekend after? And if it's game day, is it immediately after the game or is it held later in the afternoon...after showers and clothing changes? TIA!

What can I do next?

usually after the last game.. you send a note out to the parents.. that about 1 hour after you all meet for pizza.. or at someone's house for a pool party.. or something like that... find out who will pay first.. will it be the coach.. or will all the parents pay like 7 dollars a kid (only the team ) which will include pizza and soda and tip... or make it 10 dollars a kid which the left over can go towards a gift for the coach... if family members and other kids want to attend they will have their own table and pay their own bill.. it's easier that way.. u sually when we do a coach's gift.. i ask for 5 dollars per family on the side and buy the coach a small gift card.. if two coaches.. then i buy 1/2 gift card for each... like 30 each or whatever you collect..

Hi SB,
I am in my third season of being the team mom for my son's team. Typically here (in DFW), the team party is held on the weekend after the season is over. BUT, I would not schedule it yet as you may have rained out games and have make-up games at the end of the season.
There are a few ways of doing the team party:
1) reserve a private room at a pizza place and have everyone pay the day of
OR
2) collect money ahead of time for everyone and have the party at a home and have pizza delivered for the team

OR - any combo of the above.

Some other things to think of as team mom:
- You will need to collect money from the team near the end of the season for a gift for the Coach (gift card to a sport's store is always popular).
- You will need to check on awards for the team (many Fall Ball leagues do not have awards ceremonies). We do small trophies and certificates for each of our boys.
- Also, if you aren't already, taking pictures of the team throughout the season is fun- you can put together a scrapbook or if you are good with the computer, you can do a montage of the season on a DVD (many simple programs out there). I do one with music on Powerpoint and then burn each child a copy.

Best wishes for a great season,
R. :)

We always do the team parties right after the game in a grove in the park with pizza and cookies/cake or something. I have done mornings though with donuts and bagels if the game ended b/f noon.

It depends entirely on when the coach wants to hold it. Many kids have their party still in uniform so they get to show their team spirit a bit. We also had coaches who never even considered a team party after the season. It is entirely what the coach or parents want to do.

I have seen and done both. We have done it right after the game with everyone bringing something. We have also done a pool party at our house after the last game (same day as last game or another day whatever works).
