I really feel like I am keeping you girls busy lately. So, my daughter just turned 2 last week and EVERYTHING has changed in a week. It is crazy. Now she is taking her clothes and diaper off in her crib before she goes to sleep. I have tried to put a onsie on but she just pulls the diaper out underneath it. URGH!!!!! Any suggestions?
Sounds like a normal healthy two year old. Try a pretty pull up instead of a diaper.....it worked for me.
We have a diaper houdini as well....pull ups and slim fit leggings (harder to pull down) did the trick. Depending how tenacious your little one is...you can try a onsie over the leggings. You have to admire their perseverance :-) !!
Is she going potty in the bed at these times??? Do you feel like she is ready for potty training (that is if you haven't started)? You could start putting her in panties and see how she does. Maybe she is uncomfortable and just showing you she is ready. I would try it (again, that is if you haven't already).
I will say this - some kids change drastically the minute they turn 2, some 3, and then some 4. Somewhere in those 3 ages they will all make a drastic change. For my youngest, it was 2 and he said he was a big boy and no more diapers and only big boy toys. It was amazing - he was more focused than ever. Then he hit 3 and hit the "terrible" part. My oldest was 4 when everything hit him (never the terrible part though - he is an angel I swear!).

I went through the SAME thing when my middle daughter was 2!!!!! I had to buy some "blanket sleepers" (the fuzzy kind with feet that zip up the front) a size bigger than what she usually wore. You put it on her BACKWARDS, turning the feet around so that they fit right! This will put the zipper in the back! I had to do this for a few months, then had no farther problems! Hope it helps!!!
We've put diapers on backwards and/or used duct tape to solve that problem!! : )
This will pass. It may take time, but it will pass. Each child is different in the length of time, but it will pass. With my girls it ranged from a few times to a few months. One of my grandsons did this off and on from age 12 months until he was potty trained at three and a half, now the battle is him pulling his underwear off and just putting his shorts back on!
I went through that! For my boys, it was just a test of my patience. I was constantly going in and putting them, and their onesies back together. Until I switched to undies and plastic covers. For my daughter, I bought her pretty panties to wear over her diaper. Even though it was silly, she really liked it and kept her diaper on.
I bought panties for my grand daughter when she got into this phase. I put the panties on over her diaper and then put on her PJ's. It solved the problem for us.
Hi, R.. It sounds like she's uncomfortable. Have you switched diaper brands? Is the diaper possibly too tight or too loose? She might even be too hot with her clothes on; the diaper might be pinching her in the legs, the bottom or the vulva. These are the only reasons I can think of for why a child would pull her clothes off constantly.
She might be itching or have a slight rash, too. It's possible that if you've changed detergents or added fabric softener, that this might be making her itch. She doesn't have the words yet to explain; try watching her closely to see if she rubs her skin or scratches.
I am VERY allergic to all fabric softeners, especially the dryer sheets. It doesn't matter if the thing is unscented; they all make me itch as though I had itching powder on. I break out in nasty little bumps all over if that stuff touches my skin.
I hope you can find out what's bothering her quickly so that you both can be comfortable and happy.

My girls prefered to be nakey when they were awake, but I used to use a onsie under a one piece zip up jammie that had a snap that went over the top of the zipper... you could try this maybe...
I've heard putting zip up PJs on backwards works, so does duct taping the diaper all the way around so the ends are in the back.
My 21 month old does this as well. We think it is because she does not like having pee in her diaper. She will take off her diaper even after a little pee! Try taking her to the potty right before you put her down and then right after she wakes up. We started doing this and over time the diaper started staying on more often and she stays dry during nap! We also layer her with a onesie under her pj's for night time. While she still pulls off her diapers every once in a while, these measures have definitely made it less often!

You could try layering her with a diaper, then covering that with a pair of plastic pull-on pants like you would use over cloth diapers (I think they are pretty cheap), then a layer of something that is tricky to undo. I never tried this, but it might work: what if you secure her diaper with real diaper pins (in addition to the plastic sticky strip)? There's no way she could figure those out!

My two never managed to open the footie pajamas with the zipper and a snap over it.
She's just trying things! She'll keep trying the things that drive you nuts, so try to stay calm, even if you need to teach her not to do something. I know it's hard! But this, too, will pass.
Maybe you can give her a clean diaper to play with when she's up and playing, especially if it looks a little different than the one she uses--like an old size one or two. YOu could tell her this one is for playing. Does she have a doll/animal that she can undress?
