We have tickets to the Stars game tonight. Would it be a bad idea to take our 8 month old? Didn't know if it would be too loud for his ears and the commotion confusing to him? Or is it okay to take him? Your advice?

What can I do next?

Thanks for the advice. Unfortunately, we haven't had any luck finding a sitter.

I took my son when he was this young to a Mavs game. I used wax ear plugs and a packed diaper bag and we did great.

I second the sitter and date night idea.

We took our son to a Stars game at 8 months also and he loved it - smiles the whole time! ;) The baby bjorn helped out alot when getting to our seats...good luck! :)

TOTALLY depends on the child (different personalities!). We had ringside seats to the Golden Gloves championships when my son was about 6 months old, and he seemed to love it. I have some cute pictures of him really following the action as good as he could, concentrating, and it was cute. He would smile big when we cheered. When this happens, remember to dress him in layers so he's not too hot OR cold. The baby bjorn is a life saver at events like these. Go with the intent of having fun and your baby will know the noise and action are GOOD, not scary. They feed off the parents' energy so much. Have fun!

I wouldn't for several reasons - flying hockey pucks and noise. I have seen a person get hit in the head with a hockey puck before. The bell is really loud. i guess you could put a hat on him that covers his ears and have him in one of those pouches close to your chest if you can't leave him at home with a babysitter.

We used to take our daughter when she was a little younger. We would have her wear a fleece hat with ear flaps. It kept her warm and cut down on the noise. She was mesmerized by all the action for the most part, but sometimes we would not make it through 3rd period.

Hi L.- I was actually at a Stars game last night and I do not think that it is a good place to take a baby. I think it would be very overwhelming, especially at that time of night. Maybe you can find a friend or relative to watch your baby. I hope this helps. Good Luck.

It is really loud and crowded. I would get a sitter if at all possible. Make it a date night and have fun.

I think it depends on the kiddo. Ours never would have handled it well. However, everytime we go, we see kiddos there that are about that age fast asleep. Good luck!

I took mine he was fine... but I think it depends on the baby, I wore him in my baby bjorn, and was still nursing him at the time, I didn't think of ear plugs but I did use a warm hat and a blanket to help with the cold and noise.. I think he was about 6 months at the time
