T-ball??

I am moving to the Glenview area in just over 1 week and having trouble finding a t-ball league for my 6 year old. We found Glenview Youth Baseball and were able to sign up my 8 year old, but were told that they don't do the t-ball during the summer, which I think is pretty ridiculous... Anyway, does anybody know of another local t-ball league? I appreciate any help I can get with this, I know the clock is ticking for registration!

What can I do next?

Most baseball leagues in Chicagoland begin in April and playoffs for these teams are beginning now. After that the travel teams (above average players) begin their season and end with tournaments in late July/early August. In Oak Park, you would sign up in Feb. to play on one of the teams thru the Oak Park Youth Baseball/Softball Organization ages 5-11. Here in Oak Park our youth baseball org. is separate from The Park District. THe park district has some young teams (taught by young teens, not adults), but I would recommend going thru a youth baseball org. to learn the game. Every town is different though, but look for flyers to come home in backpacks in early Feb. for next season. My children play on travel teams and have played against Glenview who has some great teams. Check online thru glenviewyouthbaseball.com.

Evanston & Skokie both have very nice leagues, ages 5 and up. For the most part though, games start in April and end in mid-June. You may have already missed the boat for this year.

Not really near Glenview, but the other responses didn't offer much hope for you for the summer. Lombard's park district has t-ball for 4-6 year olds from the middle of June through the middle of July. They offer a lot of different time and day options so if you are up for about a 45 minute drive or so, it may fit into your schedule! I'm pretty sure that Elmhurst has something similar as well which would probably be about 10-15 minutes closer. Good luck!

Brandi, contact the park district in Glenview. Also, in Park Ridge the parents are the ones who put together the T-Ball program so you may want to get the Parent's Association's president in Glenview a call.

Depending on where you are going to live, you can contact the Wilmette or Northbrook park districts also.
