Hi,
Can anyone recommend a good place for swimming lessons in Clearwater/Safety Harbor area? My daughter is going to be two in June and we thought she may enjoy it.

Try the Long Center on Belcher (just north of NE Coachman) or the Clearwater YMCA. Good Luck! (And I strongly recommend swim diapers, by the way)

Seal Swim School in Tarpon....they are the best in the whole Tampa Bay area. Forget the YMCA...the kids do not retain the lessons for next year. Give them my name and I think either you or I may get a discount. My name is M. Labrecque. My daughter did it at 3, which is what I recommend because they go in the water by themselves with the teacher. Any younger and you have to go inwith them

Hi K., I dont have any children myself but work full time as a nanny and have worked with children since I was in highschool. I was a lifegaurd and camp counselor at Morningside rec. center and pool located in Morningside Estates in clearwater. I think they have an amazing program for children of all ages learning to swim. Very resonable prices also. My sister and a few of my other friends how have young children have also put there children in that swim program. I hope this helps and you are able to find something.

best wishes
K.

If you want an intensive program that will teach her to swim, I definitely recommend Seal Swim School in Tarpon Springs. It's 3 days a week for a month and somewhat expensive, but it got my daughter swimming under the water when she wouldn't even get her face near the water for us.
If you are just wanting a basic program to try that is less expensive, we also had done the Dunedin swim class. I think their site is dunedingov.com to find the recreation classes.
I am not sure if there is a YMCA in Safety Harbor or closer to it other than East Lake, but they have swim classes too.
Good luck!

We did the YMCA in Palm Harbor, they have parent chil classes til they are 3 and then independant. Classes have already started I think. Our little one loved it and it wasn't too expensive.
Have fun!

We started with private lessons at our community pool...and then did Clearwater Rec...he did well and is now a good swimmer...at Clearwater Rec they don't seem to get much "Swim" time...if you could swing it...do private lessons at Clearwater Rec...I've heard the Seal Club is great...expensive but really good!!
