I used Imse Vimse Swim Diaper it worked great even when he wanted a character boxer style swim suit these fit under it they washed great and wore so well they were passed down to another fried and still looked new. We swam in a chlorine pool twice a week since he was six months old as well as weekend play.

I have the iPlay ones - you can find them everywhere - Babies R Us, online, and at swim schools. Never had a problem with them.

I have only used the disposable ones and they are fine.

I want to make sure you are keeping your child safe in the hot tub. I know when we go to the public pool, they will not allow small children in the hot tub. I found this on the internet "It is important that strict limits are placed on the time that children are allowed to stay in the hot tub. The smaller bodies of children will heat up faster than adults which can raise their internal body temperatures to dangerous or even fatal levels very quickly. Actual allowable time will be dependant on the temperature of the water."

You might want to do your own research about it. Be safe!

The 'disposable' swimmers can be used several times. Just let them hang dry with the suit. Chlorine kills anything that might be in the diaper.

Swim diapers don't need to be waterproof or anything, so most of them do the job just fine. I've used ones from WalMart and Target as well as higher end ones made by cloth diaperers. The main differences I've noticed are in fit, and if you're going to pass them down the higher end ones wear better. If your little ones still poop in them, you might look for some that snap apart, rather than just pulling down. Otherwise, anything should work, really. Just rinse them well and hang to dry after every use.

I have used both IPlay the Shortini Set and Impse Vimpse for my daughter who has allergies to traditional diapers. We strictly use cloth. Both are excellent brands. IPlay has the swim diaper enclosed as part of the swim wear while Impse Vimpse is just a diaper that you can pair with a top if you want, place under a swim suit, or wear alone.

Styles come in everything from just pull on to snaps, to hook and loop closures. I do not recommend hook and loop for any child who can undo the swim diaper unless you put it under a swim suit or trunks-unless you want a bare bottom.

I have purchased my swim diapers from http://myswimbaby.com/ their customer service is fantastic. When I ordered I had wanted a different design which was available according to the computer. The information was not accurate due to it not updating. They contacted me immediately letting me know the problem and offering me a choice of selecting a different design or waiting until they got a shipment in letting me know they had no idea when that would be. There are other companies such as jilliansdrawers that sell reusable swim diapers as well.

I am not sure about swimmers,but I dont think that it is healthy for tiny children to be in hot tubs. I can't remember the exact reasons, but you may want to look into it before you let him in! I remember learning about it in nursing school years ago.

Hi B. - I havent noticed a real difference in quality but sizes do run differently. I purchased 2 at Target that wore very well - I was always good about rinsing them out after swimming to keep the elastic from wearing out.

Follow the size charts on the package. This time of year, you might have to shop online since not many of the big box stores have them out this time of year. If you wait until the summer items come out, shop early because they sell out fast.

Onestepahead.com has some that are shaped like a diaper, and allow you to fit them better to your child. I found the solid ones that just pull up and down, were more difficult to use, especially once they are wet. Luckily my son hasn't pooped in one yet, but those that come off like diapers would make that sooo much easier. Oh yea, and his trunks look really cute over them.

As far as the hottub, I think it is okay as long as the temperature is no warmer than bath water. My son doesn't last too long in it anyway to have worried about the time spent in it.

I used "iPlay" brand reusable swim suits for both my daughters. They were great.

You did not say if the hot tub is one that you have at home. I would say that if it is one that is yours....why even mess with a diaper. As long as the child has already gone to the bathroom...I don't see a need.
