Anyone have any references for swim lessons in the Keller, Tx area? I would prefer not to go to a school setting. I have heard about a Mr. Bob but can't find a contact number. I have also heard of a Caleb Kirhkam but can't find a number either. My older kids did Swim with Syb but the contact info I have is inaccurate. Please help! Thanks.

What can I do next?

I also second Aqua Kids! My DD took her first lessons last summer at 4yrs old and she was the only one who cried and didnt want to get in the water. It only lasted for one class then she was in there with all the others (she has always been sort of dramatic about new situations...getting better though). The swim instructors and staff are awesome and didn't pressure her.

If you do decide that a swim school isn't so bad, I would recommend enrolling your son in the two week swim camp if you can. It is 30min everyday for two weeks excluding Sat and Sun. This way he can get used to the water and routine easier.

Good luck!

Not sure why you only want private lessons (you didn’t say)... peer pressure is actually a good thing at this age. I HIGHLY recommend Aqua Kids in Heritage. I took my (at the time) 2 and 3 year old boys and they were swimming in the deep end without assistance within 3 months. We kept them there for help with technique for about a year and they are now 5 and 6 and swim like fish.

Good Luck, this is such an important safety issue!

If you do Aquakids their private lessons aren't much more than their class ones and that's what I plan to do next with my 5 year old. He does NOT pay attention in the group one. He has one private one and did AWESOME. My friend had her daughter do a group class there (there's 4 max per class) and then did 4-6 private lessons and she is a GREAT swimmer at not even 5 yet! That's what my next plan is when his group one ends. Good luck!
