Hi everyone...I have a question for you ladies..this year my husband's causin is coming over for Thanksgiving and she offered to bring the turkey and told me that it is going to be sweet (she uses pineapple and cherries). My problem is I do not know what kind of fixings will go well with a sweet turkey. I am in charge of all the fixings and desserts. Any ideas? Thanks again for your time!.

What can I do next?

I agree, stick with the traditional. I'm not sure how you prepare your sweet potatoes, but you can make them pretty sweet. I mash mine add brown sugar, pecans and marshmallows.

Just regular stuff like usual. Stuffing, green beans, mashed potatoes, corn, peas etc. rolls -- A relish tray with raw veggies - or cheese and crackers might be good starters. Sounds good!

Hey M E, I would stick with what I call the norm for our family. Stuffing, gravy, broccoli cheese & rice casserole, pea salad, sweet potatoes, cranberry salad, apple pie, pecan pie, these are just a few. We always have more than we need. And if kids will be there, cook their favorite - mac & cheese. Hope this helps.

I'd stick with the traditional turkey sides as well.

I always have green beans, mashed potatoes w/ gravy, sweet potato casserole, sometimes corn casserole and home made cranberry sauce.

We jsut have 3 in our family but I LOVE cooking the entire meal.
