I'd like to attempt making sushi at home...for fun...but was wondering where to buy the fish. I know it needs to be fresh, but does anyone have any suggestions on where to purchase the fish? I live in Plano.
thanks!

Try Central Market or Whole Foods and tell them you are looking for sushi-grade fish.
I also ran across a really good fish market at Lakeside Market in Plano - Preston and Spring Creek - Sea Breeze Fish Market and Grill. They also had a very fresh selection. www.seabreezefish.com

Central Market sells sushi grade fish. Just fresh fish is not good enough to eat raw. Make sure it is sushi grade. Let us know how it turns out!

Regardless of where you go make sure that you ask for sushi grade fish. It truly makes a difference (it will be more expensive just to warn you.) Central Market and Market Street are good places to try.

T.J.'s Fish Market in the southwest corner of Forest/Preston in Dallas flies in their fresh fish daily too. They are a wonderful source and will also special order fish for you.

Yikes... be careful. I'll be happy to answer any questions you have other than with the fish. We do veggie and California rolls fairly often.
